Director Jake Kasdan's fantasy action film saw a modest 28 percent drop in its performance compared to last weekend, making for a domestic total that now amounts to $244.4 million.
The big new release of the weekend, Insidious: The Last Key, placed second in its debut. The Adam Robitel-directed horror film, which serves as the fourth entry in the Insidious series, earned an estimated $29.3 million, which is ahead of Insidious: Chapter 3's $22.7 million debut, but short of Chapter 2's $40.3 million opening haul.
