I was an alcoholic for 21 years and been sober for a year today.so I treated myself to a box mod a segelei 100 watt plus iv been vaping for 9 months now and have a MVP 20 watt and 3 mech clones so thought I'd upgrade as I deserved a treat and wow I'm lovin it.iv got a lemo drop on it at the moment and it's much better than using it on the MVP. Iv tried my tugboat on it with dual coils ohming at .4 at 40 watts amazing. can't understand what I'd use the 100 watts for though any suggestions.really want to put this through its paces or is there no need to really have 100 watts at hand.

Awesome, congratulations!!
But I've often asked myself that question, have never been above 35w myself, what in the world would you vape at 100?? Perhaps one of our veteran vapers will chime in here and enlighten us. ;)

Grats grats Grats!!!! You picked a wonderful Mod to treat yourself with too!!!! You will really enjoy it:)
With the higher Wattage makes it set to power some nice RBA's
Thanks whiskey and yea I am enjoying it but like you said I just don't feel I need the 100 watts and hope someone can enlighten me. suppose it's like having a powerfull car that can do 200 mph but having 70 mph speed limit.

Well if your not going to use high wattage for cloud reasons, step it down and it will give you loads of battery time that way:)

Congrats from me as well!

As far as using 100 watts is concerned, I have the same mod myself and I personally don't go much over 35 watts myself.

That being said, there are quite a few cloud chasers out there that are using low resistance quad coil builds and some of them will even go over 100 watts in their quest for the largest clouds possible.

But for me, I enjoy the extra battery capacity these mods offer.

The longevity of battery power is good I was impressed with the mvp but this lasts alot longer iv been using it for 6 hours now with a 1 ohm coil in my lemo drop and it's at 70% power my MVP would need charging by now.

The huge advantage of a 100 watt mod would be the battery life.
Also if you vape at 40 watts and buy a 40 watt mod then you have the chip maxed out all the time.
This may shorten the life of the chip over time.
I have a 150 watt Sigelei mod and have a subtank on it and stay at 35 watts.

If you buy a car that goes 65mph max it would die pretty fast if you drove it on the highway everyday.
That is one of the reason that cars normally can go double that.

Does that make any sense to you guys? :)

Congrats on your accomplishments, first, and also the new mod.

Most things have been mentioned regarding the excessive power, but I'll suggest you slowly try pumping it up with your dripper. I haven't used a tugboat, but I build .4 range duals in my Mutation and regularly vape them from 45-70 on the high side. Mainly, my juices taste best around 55-60. So, you can definitely pump more power to the build you have. You might like it, might not.

Again, congrats on vaping, and a year of sobriety. That is truly something to be proud of, and deserving of such a gift.

Congrats. Year and a half here. Stopped smoking same time too... and started vaping.

I use my ipv3 at 100 watts with some fairly crazy specialty builds (ie dual fused claptons with nichrome and kanthal mix). Up side is HUGE flavor and cloud... down side is battery life is greatly diminished. I highly recommend something like an RDA... the mutation x v3 or the doge v2 or dark horse. Authentics are awesome but you would probably enjoy the clones just as much.

Again... way to go on the miraculous accomplishment. (there is a recovery thread on this forum that is super supportive)

First of all, congrats brother on keeping sober. I know some famlies involved in the local AA chapters and it's a triumph in your life and the lives of the people that love you.
That Sig 100 is a kick ass mod that will rock anything you throw at it !
Great choices.

Congrats on the year sober and many more to come.
If you want to pump up the power a quick easy solution is a sub ohm tank. Like the Arctic and herkles they can push up to 100w with the lowest ohm coil in them. Good luck on quest to stay sober I'm pulling for ya.

Nice choice on the mod. Sounds like you deserved to have a good one. Running dual coils at 40w and liking it makes me think you're using thin'ish wire. Try some duals with 24g and see how you like that. I bet you quit using the thin stuff. You aren't stuck in a tiny little box now. Play around and have some fun. Congrats. :)

Iv got 28 guage 26,24,22 and 20 iv been a bit worried in past going below .4 ohms even though iv been using Sony vtc4 and LG he2 batts in my mechs goin to build dual parallel today try and get it to about .2 ohm see what that does for me. Now I feel bit safer with regulated device.

When using a big power regulated mod that can handle low ohm builds (a Sigelei 150 in this case) my vaping buddy and I have had great success focusing more on coil geometry than worrying too much about trying to hit some target resistance. He just got a plume veil and wanted to set it up in single coil mode. I studied the thing for a minute and told him to try a 24g coil with a 3mm diameter and use as many wraps as it takes to make the coil the same length as the air slot is wide. He did and then wicked and juiced it up and started turning up the power until he found the 'spot'. The results were fantastic. There was no need to try another build. Nailed it first try. When your mod gives you the kind of options something like a big power Sigelei does, coil geometry can be more important than the resistance measurement.

Congrats on your year, brother. Be proud of yourself!

I stopped 26 years ago. Have had a couple of one night stands with my old friend Jack along the way, but forgave myself in the morning and made sure it never happened two nights in a row - has been the key to my long term success.

Thanks. As I was alcohol dependent for 21 years and drank 2 litres of vodka every day for 10 of those years. I can't risk just one night or even one drink. some people can just have one night now an then and then leave it for weeks if I had a drink I think I would be hooked again so can't risk it well done to you though for all those years. And by the way my treat was short lived the bloody switch is sticking on the sig and the shop I got it hasn't got anymore so if I take it back I gotta wait till next delivery so goin to fix it myself it's enough to make you wanna drink lol.
