My question is. Is it OK to run kanger tech .5ohm new round stainless steel replacement coils or the ssocc coils in regular power mode. Because someone had mentioned that you had to run stainless steel coils or ssocc coils in temp control.

Yes you can run them in regular power. Temp control is not needed for SS coils. Only certain mods have temperature control for stainless steel coils which is a option. I run mine all the time using regular power.

On your atty, is your grommet/silicone ring red or pink? If it's red, that's not even a SS coil. It's Nichrome.

Red or Pink, SS or Nichrome they still can use regular wattage for either.

Yes Smokie, but let's get the whole picture, Kanger isn't really helping...

The SS refers to the body material of the new SSOCC heads.
The packaging accent and O-Ring color denote the coil material...

Pink - Stainless Steel... either power or SS TC modes.
Black - Clapton coil... it's Kanthal or NiCh (?), use power mode.
Blue - Nickel... use Ni TC mode ONLY.
Red - NiChrome wire... use Power Mode.*

*I'm not hearing good things about Kanger's new NiCh TC mode, but I can't TC the Red rings on my TCR Adjustable mods (NiCh's TCR is ludicrously low).

My understanding is that you can use SS wire coils in both temp or watt mode. Can anyone clarify this?

Cool.
NiFe is still uncommon, so SS is usually the first dual mode wire most come across.
I guess having a dedicated TC mode makes many doubt it.
That's cool, safety first and what not.

Not a real biggie, but with a name like "Vapor Authority", well... :p
