Kanthal/cotton VS S.Steel/cotton VS Steel Mesh?

Hi guys, a few questions regarding wiring and wicking:

1. I see the new Triton, i believe, uses stainless steel in its premade coils. Why isn't this offered more alongside kanthal? Is there any benefit to using SS wire?

2. SS mesh, as a wicking system, seemed to be used a bit more in the recent past but not so much these days, that I can tell. Why is that? I'd think it would deliver the best flavor out of all wicking methods.

3. Anyone here use nichrome instead of kanthal? What do you like about it better than kanthal?

Thanks!

Alot of the newer tanks are making the subohm coils from SS (.2, .3 and .4 ohm coils) I think it is something that has just begun and you will start to see more of it in the future. I previously had not thought of stainless steel and now that I know it can be used plan on trying to wrap some coils out of it. Only reason I have not already started is because the smallest amount I can find is almost 600 ft and its $21 so takes me longer to get the funds up for that.

SS mesh was good in the gennie tanks and was very common. Some people still swear by it but it was the wicking material and was sometimes a pain to get it oxidized so that it would not short out your coils. Also with mesh you had a chance of having a metalic taste with it due to it being wicked through metal. Cotton does not have any metallic taste and its a no muss no fuss material. You grab a piece wick it up and your good to go. Some may find it takes a few vapes to break it in and some do not. So its quicker and easier then mesh.

I am still on the fence about the nickel wire over kanthal. It is nice that with temp control you dont get dry hits if done correctly but takes alot more tweaking to get it right and it is not as forgiving as kanthal in my opinion. I found it to be to light of flavor but I havent fully explored it yet. My burnout which is a cinnamon fireball was very nice on nickel but then again its a rather strong vape when it comes to throat hit and flavor so the nickel kind of tamed it down for me.
