Kanthal Wire Best Gauge for Target Ohm?

I've been building coils for a few months, mostly successfully. My target is .5 ohm single coil builds. I've been using 24 gauge kanthal with 2mm interior dia at 7 wraps and hitting that .5 ohm pretty consistantly.

I'm just wondering if there is a consensus as far as which gauge kanthal works best for a targeted ohm range...if that makes sense.

Honestly it just depends on your atty and how much power you are willing to pump into the coil. Bigger wire= more metal= more power.

I only Say it depends on the atty because the bigger the wire, the lower resistance and the more wraps you'll need for your .5Ω target. Therefore you'll need more room for the coil.

Consensus that there is a particular range where a specific wire is best yes..... consensus as to what best is no.

Play with steam-engine.org. I use it for just what you ask. Best wire or combination of wires to get the vape I want.... it's easier to understand than it sounds or looks...... watch the heat flux and Heat capacity... learn what you like those to be.. then be creative.
