I take no credit for this - I saw it on another forum somewhere, but thought I would post some pictures.

I have had the square clone for a couple months, but it gets neglected. Probably will still sit @ only 12 watts on this kick., but I wanted to get a kick in that empty 510 tube and keep the 18650 battery. Here's how:

Replace the original 510 top cap with a chi-you top cap.
Replace the 510 pin with the spare spring that comes with the Kato Square.
Adjust chi-you 510 screw and fit the kick in the barrel.

The 510 tube is a bit larger than a regular battery tube so I wedged in a spare o-ring to get a good negative contact with the side wall. Not an elegant solution, but it works. When I have more time I'll wrap the kick with some heat shrink tubing and foam or something to bulk it up a bit.

Once this is in I had to put the battery in top down and that's it.

Here's some pictures:

How crazy to have found your post, doubtful anyone is still here but thought I'd say something anyhow.
I was sitting here looking at all my old mechanical mods which I love from back in the day before all the box mods started coming out and was holding my Kato and looked at my kicks and have always thought that I should see if I could put the kick in the Kato, so I did a Google on just Kick and went to pics and what you know there's your pics of you putting a kick in a Kato, and BAM.. brain cells in hyper mode... LOL
So I'm now looking around for my Chi and couldn't find it so I'm sitting here just scanning the mods and I mean I have a bunch and I zoom in on my Caravela and being I know the threads on most with one exception I didn't know what the threading on the Kato is so I decide to give the Caravela a try and see what happens since it's really great mod and has a great switch and flawless machining one of my favs and it all fit together BEAUTIFULLY, now my Kato has a Carvela top cap and Caravela switch just FN awesome Copper and polished stainless with Caravel logo on the switch looks so good and now has a nice smooth throw, so on to putting in the Kick,
Thanks for the FANTASTIC post just made my day pal...!!

That's awesome. I haven't used the Kato in awhile. Such a great mod just a little underpowered.

Well Mr Speed here, it's been a month since I last logged on here,
I originally bought my Kato in I think early 2014 or late 2013 right after I saw the authentic, I know it was one of the first clones to come out and it was a real good 1:1 clone of the Kato.
Since I last spoke here with you I have tried as I might to find another quality Kato to buy and honestly mechs are getting scarce and the ones you do find are either crap or the vendor is still asking insane height of the demand type prices,
A quality Kato is still going for $60 & up, EXCEPT at AngelCig where I went against my better judgement and bought one of theirs for $20 + shipping just to see and as expected, really bad compared to what I have.
So far I have the design of what the final will look like and took some pics, went to Evolv and bought a couple Kick 2's 15w with low battery shut off and some short out protection, Funny that vendors are still trying to sell the Kick 2 for $35 - $45 also, but I got a great surprise buying direct from Evolv, the site said the Kick cost something like $30 so I got one and when I looked in the cart they only charged me $20, so being stupid honest Joe I contacted Evolv and it was no mistake they told me OH Know maybe you should buy 2 so I did, here's the link http://www.evolvapor.com/shop.php
Specs and price are,
$34.99 Really $19.99
Output Power:
5 Watts to 15 Watts
Output Voltage:
2 Volts to 6.3 Volts
Output Current:
6 Amps
atomizer resistances:
0.5 Ohms to 3.3 Ohms
low battery cutoff:
2.7 Volts loaded
Here's what my Kato will look like, the switch is from a Caravela 23 mm clone also a very high end clone and the top cap is also from the Caravela, what's really cool about it is how all the threading lines up, when I screw on the switch the serial number of the Caravela lines up with the edge of the Kato perfectly, also it doesn't show in pics but the top caps air slots line up from back to front edge of the Kato, so it all looks like it was machined to fit the Kato, crazy really that these parts fit so well, most 23 mm switches fit the Kato and also like the 23mm Chi You but not nearly as nice as the Carvela I used, so now I get these copper long pins from Fatdaddys and get the kick in and it will look sweat I think, Here's what I've got for looks so far. The last pic with side by side Kato's is the one from AngelCig, look at the numbers and how spaced they are, that's not right and the engraving is about half or less as deep as my good Kato, but $20 ?? Their priced right I guess, now I'll get the insides all completely changed out and rebuilt, maybe throw a chip in..?
