KBOX flaw

I posted this related to the topic in Sub-tanks/...

The KBOX has a pretty widespread flaw, the rubber grommet/insulator around the pin goes bad with screwing tanks on and off. If reported here, I missed it. I did find this discussion with varying "fixes" -- https://www.reddit.com/r/electronic_cigarette/comments/32erib/kanger_kbox_15_light_blink_fix/

None seem bullet proof but all are on the right track. I've got my KBOX up and running again for the time being with some other ideas in mind if things go bad again.

Like I said, don't know if this has been discussed here. I have fixes but is there an accepted go-to way to handle this?

Pull the top off, unsolder the white wire, pop the 510 pin out and replace the grommet/insulator from a used subtank coil head. The same insulator is used on both.
Then just put it all back together.
The whole job could be done in 5 minutes.

if you have soldering iron and feel comfortable doing this kind of task. but thank you for giving the official fix. Mine is doing this as well and I just back off the tank tightening a bit. a tiny bandaid for what was my least favorite mod even before the issue arose.

Pretty much what I've done except I used the grommet from a Nautilus Mini BVC head which seemed a little easier to work with than a subtank head grommet. From the link I posted, the fix isn't necessarily permanent except now knowing to be more careful with mounting tanks and doing so less often should add to its life. I think I'll play with some silicon or something to lock that grommet in place.

Yeah, john C, not the most versatile mod but certainly usable and, IMO, very stylish. Mine stays at home.
