Time Out! Story time!

@Jimi you made me think of a man I used to work with back in the mid-70s.

He drove a big Buick station wagon, probably got about 8 miles to a gallon of gas, and his gas tank had a hole in it.

He worked for the State, just like me, so he didn't have the money to get his car fixed.

Gas was about 35 cents a gallon at the time, so he would get gas every morning and evening. A dollar's worth at a time.

If he was lucky, he'd still have a little gas left in his car to get back to a station so he could get home. Sometimes we'd all have to dig for change to help him come up with a dollar for the evening and one for the next morning.

Poor guy did this for months. He got teased about it so bad, but he was a sweet guy so he took it well. Bless his heart, he worked in an office with about 25 women, so if he hadn't been patient and tolerant, he'd have been in bad shape!
