MCR 303 MK11 by MCR MODS Manchester England

I just got this in today, and I just cant build it. Its supposed to be a Genesis or vertical coil with cotton.

I cant get the coil right and I cant prepare a genesis wick. My hands are to shaky
cramp up and keep dropping the hot wick and burning the rug.

Its so depressing because this is so gorgeous and looks drop dead sexy on my MCR mods.
Very similar to the Origenny in set up and design.

316 Stainless Steel - 20mm diameter - 2mm air hole.
Height from base without drip tip - 30.7mm
Height from base with drip tip - 42mm
8mm diameter chamber - 2.5mm Wick hole
16mm Deck - Naval Brass Center Post
Self Aligning Chamber with self-plugging fill hole
SS and PMMA Tanks
Juice Capacity 1.5- 2ml approx

I also ordered an extra center pin and repair kit that includes insulators, nuts, screws and o-rings.

I'm a longtime MCR303 user, its the only atomizer I will never sell. I've been using it every day since I got it and probably the main reason why I ended up selling 90% of my vape gear over the past year ;)

2mm airhole is too loose for my liking, but MCR always have replacement caps available for sale with 1mm, 1.5mm or 2mm airflow holes cut.

DOH, I have some around in different sizes from my surgery tech days... THanks so much.

Ordered some 316 cable /rope in 1/16 diameter. I was told it might be easier to use that for me. Now, you are not supposed to let the wick touch bottom of reservoir , right?

You should see my right hand thumb, its shredded from my attemps so far and is swollen at the first knuckle past fingernail. Still having problems working with my reg gear.

Using my bottom switch mechs are killing me. Thank goodness I have a side button semi-mech and my box mod. It still hurts but not so bad.

Getting old SUCKS.

Don't know about that atty but I certainly have mesh touching the base in my gennies. Gennies are a PITA to get working right (when using SS mesh wicks) but once you get them right you don't usually have to mess with it for a while. Its easier with a clapton coil to be honest, less faffing around with hotspots and works great.

Well, I think I know what butt must taste like.... SHeeeite..... I got it perfect, pulsed it, no hot legs. First few puffs, great as the wick was saturated, then POW, right in the kisser!!!!

I was facinated that my coil looked so picture perfect. I wanted to kiss this guy in the video....

Even when it was good, I still like the taste of my cotton so there, GENESis , you evil beauties will not ever seduce me again !!!!

Oh this is for sale again.....

Now whoever buys this will get some stupid rope too !!!!!

Ok, decided to take a better look and one of my coils was not touching the wick, sort sticking out enough to leaves some space.

Wrapped it again and this is how it looks. Gonna add some liquid and give it another try. Came out higher, which I wanted, .81

I hope my voice doesnt end up sounding like one of my favorites ; Lee Marvin. Or maybe I can do duets with Tom Waits.

Tada!!!! iTs working, but not wicking very well. I can take a few puffs, then it starts to dry. I cant take the long deep vapes Im used to. But tastes so much better
and Im feeling confident now.

Im gonna give a mesh wick a try. I use almost 100VG, could it be that its too thick?

I have 2 types of mesh to choose, one a really fine and flexible mesh and the other is thicker but looser weave, but a bit harder to roll.

If I use the fine, flexible one , should I leave it a bit hollow, and should it be a mm or 2 opening?

Also, should the wick fit snug in the opening or just a tad loose, about 1mm around it?

Thanks everyone for helping me

Hotspots can magically re-appear in the middle of a vape, you have to really mess with the coil til you know there are no magic hotspots. Never vape on hotspots....they nasty dry throat foul tasting mothers. I use finest mesh I can find as finer mesh wicks better. You don't need any gaps but you shouldn't have to force anything in either. I usually shoot for just over 1Ω coils and once its wrapped pulse it and use a small screwdriver to shift coils around on the wick until it glows centre out and there are absolutely no signs of any hotspots.

Boy did I find that out. I vaping away and yuck. I dont know if its a hot spot or my wick is not wicking well?

Im tired , rebuilt a few times tonight and my eyes are not focusing well. Its odd how after working with a magnifying glass and then try to see normal, it goes all blurry for a while.

Thanks, This might go back for sale......

Thanks to you, I gave it another try. This time a slightly slimmer hand rolled fine mesh wick at about 1.5 to 1.75mm.

Did a micro coil , slipped the wick in, pulsed till it was heating like any other micro, middle out, no hot legs. Poured a couple drop on it, filled tank and its been perfect for a tank and half.... YEAH< I DID IT

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE for all the help and encouragement, Id like to thank ......the producers for making such a great atty, Id like to thank all the people who supported me .... HA, started to sound like I won an Oscar... But really Thank you all
