Kumiho Thoth Q Pro

As many of you know, I’m usually a big fan of Kumiho devices because of their aesthetics and the excellent flavor their stock coils provide. So today, I’m bringing you the new Kumiho Thoth Q Pro—a pod-style device with a pretty cool feature that is both practical and stylish. It also features a 1300mAh battery, adjustable airflow, and a few different vaping modes.

Let’s jump into the review, but first, I’d like to thank Healthcabin for making this possible. You can visit their website to learn more about the Kumiho Thoth Q Pro.

Let’s start with the front of the packaging. As you can see, it features the classic Kumiho color scheme: a combination of black and an orange-tinted, glossy copper tone. At the top, we find their branding—a logo that I personally love. On the right side is the device model, the Thoth Q Pro. In the center, there is a large window that gives us a great first look at the vape itself. Finally, at the bottom, some of its key features are listed.

On the back, we find some specs, the box contents, some warnings and contact addresses, and finally, a scratch-off to verify that the product is not counterfeit and a barcode that also indicates the color of the unit.

Inside the box, we will find:
  • 1* Thoth Q Pro
  • 1* Thoth Series 0.6Ω Mesh Pod
  • 1* User Manual
Once again, I should point out that it doesn't include a Type-C cable, which is something I actually like. However, something I don't like—and you know I always mention this—is the fact that they don't include two different cartridges in the packaging, so that the customer can have two different experiences and see which one better suits their vaping style.

Alright, as you can see in the image, the device is divided into two parts. On one hand, we have the upper casing where the cartridge connects, which attaches to the bottom section via two large magnets. It also features three retractable connection pins that make perfect contact when joined. This design is because the device supports an interchangeable top part that functions as a flashlight (yes, I know it sounds like a 'gimmick'), and it also allows for customization and color combinations with other pieces, which, by the way, can be purchased separately without any problem.

As you can see, the shape is completely rectangular, and the top and bottom sections fit together perfectly, without any protruding edges or anything of the sort. Regarding the materials, the body is made of aluminum alloy, while the cartridge uses PC and PCTG. This gives it a total weight of 80.89g, of which 44.98g come from the battery section and the rest from the upper part that holds the cartridge (cartridge included).

On the front of the device, the only things we see are the letters displaying the name of the device, 'Thoth', and a 1.44-inch screen with relatively thin black bezels on the top and sides, and a noticeably wider one at the bottom.

This is how the screen looks in SUPER mode, although from what I’ve seen, all modes display the same information. The screen provides us with:
  • Battery indicator by bars (slots).
  • Battery indicator in percentage.
  • Power (wattage) indicator.
  • Resistance (Ω) indicator.
  • Puff counter.
  • Puff duration indicator.
  • Lock indicator icon.
As you can see, the information is more than enough for this type of device; we don't need anything else. I should also mention that each mode—ECO, NORMAL, and SUPER—has its own UI and animation when taking a puff; you can check this in the images at the beginning of the review.

I must say that I’ve had an issue with the cartridge resistance and the reader, as it's quite inconsistent. The coil is supposedly 0.6Ω, but when I inserted it, it would sometimes read as 0.8Ω, sometimes as 1.0Ω, and occasionally—though rarely—as what it actually is, 0.6Ω. This significantly changes how power is delivered to the coil, so I would like it to be more precise and accurate.

Regarding the screen resolution, the text looks really good and clear, and the brightness is perfectly adequate in dark environments—no issues at all in that regard.

On one of the sides, we find the button; in this case, it is black, rectangular, and has a very short travel with a very satisfying click. This button is used to fire the vape and to access different functions:
  • 5 Clicks: Enters a menu to reset the puff counter, lock the device (button lock only), or turn it off. Another 5 clicks will turn it back on.
  • 3 Clicks: To change the wattage in increments of 1 by 1 up to the maximum allowed for the coil, then it rounds back to the minimum recommended setting.
  • 2 Clicks: Enters the vaping mode menu, where you can choose between ECO, NORMAL, and SUPER. The difference between them lies in the power delivery: SUPER is much more aggressive, while ECO is significantly smoother.
That’s all for the button and its functions—they are truly simple, and I believe everyone will be able to play around with them and master them easily.

On the other side, we find the charging port, located at the bottom of the device, which is the battery section itself. Charging is done at 5V/1.2A; I would have liked it to have 2A fast charging, as I think it wouldn't cost much to implement and it’s something that truly makes a difference in charging time.

I like that the charging port is on the side and at the bottom, as I recommend disconnecting the top part while charging and leaving the device standing upright. This small bottom section features a tiny LED that will indicate when it is 100% charged.

On the back, we find the airflow intake, consisting of three holes, each one larger than the last. When fully open, it provides a very satisfying RDL (Restricted Direct Lung) experience, leaning slightly toward a DL (Direct Lung) hit if we adjust our draw accordingly. To close it, there is a slider that I wish was slightly stiffer. Although I have to say it hasn't moved in my pocket at any point, the feel of it is a bit too loose for my liking.

Vaping Time
Let’s move on to the vaping test, where I’ll talk about the flavor, vapor production, hand feel, battery life, and more...

To start, let's talk about the experience with the 0.6Ω cartridge. Regarding the flavor, I can say that I am very satisfied by far; the flavor provided is very good. It doesn't quite reach the level of GTX, GTi, or PnP coils, but it is truly surprising. As for the vapor, for such a small device, it certainly doesn't fall short. However, when it comes to the lifespan of the cartridges, I’ve noticed some inconsistency—some last for weeks, while others burn out after just a few days even when using the same liquid.

Regarding the hand feel, I must say it isn't uncomfortable at all, and the weight is spot on. It feels solid; however, the fact that it is split into two parts makes me a bit hesitant. It gives me the feeling that with any awkward movement, the parts could separate and one of them might fall to the ground.

As for the battery, it holds up very well. I’m not going to give you the 'sales pitch' that it lasts a week, like many brands do, but it can certainly last you the whole day with moderate use. It can last even longer if you are using nicotine salts.

Conclusion
In short, it’s not a bad device at all, though it does have a few drawbacks. Nevertheless, I encourage you to try some of Kumiho's products because they are attractive, simple and easy to use, though I’m not saying they are perfect, not by any means.
