I dig this new box but I have to wonder about battery safety here...

Was playing around with an Alliance Fat Boy with 8 coils @ .13Ω firing @ 200W.

Needed to get rid of the juice, typically long fire while under a fan to keep the wicks from getting singed. Noticed the box getting a bit warm. Pulled the cover and the cells were quite warm. Not dangerous mind you but probably 115F or so. Samsung 25Rs.

Never noticed this in my Cuboid or Sig213 (both of those have current limiters of 24/35 respectively).

Have to wonder about the Laisimo. TBH, I would prefer a lofty current limit or even none as I have common sense and run mechs, etc. But to have this in the hands of a user taught that regulated boxes have no worries could be concerning!

With 8V typ (two cells in series) at 200W gives 25A which is certainly OK for these cells. That's assuming 100% conversion efficiency of the driver which is impossible. 90% is more typical and there's slight terminal loss, etc. Of course these are extremes and most aren't doing 8 second hits at 200W! But a bunch of 1S hits on a .15Ω "So Horney" six pack clapton build is certainly possible at a party (I'm guilty of that haha!) and the cells do get pushed.

I just hope no one tries this on some shitty rewraps (MXJO, etc.) or they may not be happy.

I have to say this box kicks major ass though!

Using 316SS in TC I love being able to move initial resistance so temperature is closer to what it really is. No more of this 550F stuff being just right! ;)

15 minutes (yeah, you read that right) to upload a wallpaper photo over bluetooth is kind of ridiculous though. Reminds me of 300bps couplers from the 80s.
