True Story:
I'm a Realtor of 26 yrs here in Scottsdale, AZ. I sold a brand new construction condo in 2007 and the builder was having their first promo drawing for the first 500 agents that sold a condo from Jan-June in July. The event was to happen on a day that I was SEVERELY hung over. I looked at myself in the mirror and I scared myself. But something kept telling me, put your hair in a pony tail and get your ass over there. So I did. Filled out my name, put it in a little envelope and thought, "Yeah, well at least I get coffee and a donuts". As luck would have it, I was sitting next to my Broker! The BIG DOG of our brokerage. When they got around to pulling out the name I looked at the envelope feeling excited and thought to myself, Holy Shit, that's my envelope! (they all looked the same) My heart began to beat fast because I folded up a little edge of my tiny envelope thinking, again, "Pfffft, yeah right." But low and behold, they called my name! I was still quite hung over and shocked! (imagine what THAT looked like!) There, after a moment was a check the size of a VW with my name on it for $10,000.00. AND, it was my oldest son's birthday who turned 17 on 7/17/07. Kismet? But I was a very happy camper. When they took that picture I was happy but couldn't quite pull off a full smile. I can't find the photo now but I'll check my old back-ups. I'll u/l it if I find it. I actually mounted that huge check on my office wall for years.
