One of the newest LEGO sets has you build what’s probably the most iconic video game villain of all time. LEGO Super Mario: The Mighty Bowser is a 2,807-piece set that features tons of interactivity, but also looks great as a display piece on a shelf or desk. It’s intended for people age 18 and up, and it’s available now in the IGN Store for $269.99.
LEGO Bowser is a sizable set. It stands over a foot tall and has its own castle-style base, complete with flame pillars on either side of King Koopa. Open his mouth, and he can shoot a fireball, presumably at an unsuspecting Mario.
Bowser is incredibly posable, with a button under his shell that lets you move his head and neck. It’s almost like a puppet. You can also pose his arms, legs, thumbs, and tale, and open and close his mouth. Even his eyes and eyebrows are movable.
If you have the Mario, Luigi, or Peach starter sets, you can use the protagonist figures to interact with Bowser. A small drawer in Bower’s base pulls out to reveal an action tag that kicks off the boss battle. Have one of the heroes stomp on Bowser a few times, and he’ll succumb to his injuries, racking up points.
