Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.
At this point, three episodes in, I'm kind of looking to see how FOX's Lethal Weapon reboot might subvert expectations. It'd be easy enough to say that the case-of-the-week in "Best Buds" was inconsequential, but I get the feeling it wasn't - not with so many unresolved murders at the end and the Cartel lingering in the background. It had all the makings of a seasonal arc. As in, the criminal spine of the show that might connect to the dead how Riggs' wife.
I could be wrong, of course, but it just seemed strange to recover the money and then end with the news that Angela (Ellen Hollman) had been freakin' decapitated and -- you know -- case closed. So we'll have to see what comes of all this.
