So, I recently got a Hammer of God and have played with a few builds so far and I haven't managed to find one I like yet. I generally only work in Kanthal, and I've tried twisted 26, 27 and 28g builds 8-12 wraps around 3.5mm, I've tried straight single strand 22g 9 wrap around 3.5 and 4mm builds, 28g/34g fused Claptons 8 wraps around 3.5mm, and pretty much every build has been too hot. The closest I've found to what I like was the 22g but I'm out of 22g wire at the moment. Now, money is tight so I wanted to get suggestions before buying any more wire right now.
Since I have the extra leniency of the parallel-series instead of straight series I don't mind building as low as a .25 or so, so long as the temperature is right, so I was thinking about claptoning some 22/32g to add a little extra surface area, and add a little extra metal so it won't heat up as fast, my issue is that I'm not sure I'll be able to fit 10 wraps of that in comfortably my 25mm Buddha and most certainly not in my Azeroth which has a 24mm deck (it could fit, but I like having a bit of extra room) so my other idea was quad 24/32, 14 wraps at a 3mm ID which should fit in at least the Buddha. and much more surface area, but is more effort and I HATE wicking quads, so I'm not sure about that idea without some frame of reference on what it'll be like.
I was hoping someone might have an insight on a decent and easy HoG build that I won't have to use my 30mm RDA for (Too airy for my taste, no matter what I do with it). Keep in mind my goal is to keep the resistance between .2-.3, with plenty of surface area and don't really have the skill to do much more than twisted, braided or basic Clapton builds yet. I want something with a fair bit of warmth but not hot, and don't mind mild ramp up.
