The next EA Originals title, Lost in Random, finally has a release date. Players will be able to journey into the gothic fairytale world of the Kingdom of Random on September 10, 2021. EA Play Live also premiered a brand new gameplay video showing off a core part of Random's battle system.
Lost in Random is set in a mysterious kingdom ruled by an evil Queen. Even must work alongside Dicey to save her sister, Odd, who was abducted by the queen.

The new gameplay trailer reveals how randomness can dictate the course of Even's battle. Using a slingshot to attack enemies in real-time, Even can collect Coins to power up Dicey. When Dicey is sufficiently charged, Even can roll Dicey and freeze time, allowing Even to then use special abilities drawn from a deck of cards. Throughout Even's adventures, she can purchase new cards from merchants around Random to build a powerful enough deck to take on the queen herself.
We spoke to Lost in Random's creators last year, who told us that, although people's assumptions were that this would be a puzzle-platformer, it was actually a 'light RPG', with tactical elements among its action.
Lost in Random will be coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC this September as part of the EA Originals program. This is the same program that delivered critically-acclaimed games like It Takes Two, Unravel, and Knockout City.
