From the creative team of Chynna Clugston Flores and Rosemary Valero-O'Connell, Lumberjanes/Gotham Academy #1 holds true to the personality of its signature flagships while delivering an entertaining tale all its own.
Credit must be given to publishers DC and BOOM! for not only recognizing the shared spirit of their respective properties, but for also having the savvy to put them together. That said, similarity only goes so far, and it's that fact that makes what Clugston Flores and Valero-O'Connell have done here all the more impressive. Not only have the duo managed to successfully integrate the two bands of young adventurers into one seamless title, but they do so in a way that both evokes each individual spirit while also creating something new. It's a solid bit of balancing that they make look easy, no easy feat considering the significant lore and character backstory each title possesses.
