UPDATE: Rock Band 4 developer responded to our request for a comment by telling us it's "extremely pleased with how things have gone to date." Harmonix said it "sold a lot of copies" of Rock Band 4 last year, and calls its DLC business "particularly strong."
"We’re convinced that the band experience is proving hugely popular within this console generation," a rep told us, reiterating Harmonix stated goal for Rock Band 4 is "to become this console generations best music gaming platform, so we’re in this for the long haul."
Harmonix also pointed to its free updates and weekly DLC, as well as Rock Band's "strong, passionate and vocal" community, one it said it intends to support, along with the game, "for years."
