At a red light, a car pulls up beside me, i look the girl blows a decent cloud. She zooms off faster than me. Well on the back glass of her SUV a sticker read, "Sub Life". Next light turns red. I put down my window and ask, Hey what sub ohm do you build to? Her reply about made my shit., "i dont know, this is unregulated.' I use a mech as well, i said, 'And'? you dont use an ohm meter?? WOW, how stupid. Or was she just tryin to make people think she was a sub-ohm'er? I mean it shouldnt bug me but, com'on SAFTY PEOPLE!! If you sub ohm, chances are you know what you bulid your coils to. OR if someone does it for you, they tell ya or you gotta ask for a certain bulid....OR are there shops that just set people up and figure hey, they'll keep comin back?! This is buggin the shit outta me. I know wut i'm runnin 99% of the time. The 1% is the varitant of when your coils change from use. Com'on. Anyone else have something similar like this happen??

I don't rebuild but even I like to know what ohms I'm running, makes a difference even on regulated devices so u know how much power is too much. If I did rebuild I'd damn sure wanna know what I was running if for nothing more than knowing what resistances I think vaped the best for me. At least with most regulated mods they have some protection to keep from running too low of a build for the chip/battery. But unfortunately these dummies I'm sure buy clone mechs and have no clue about batteries possibly venting etc. Couple that with these generic crap 18350/18650 etc.... batteries these Chinese companies sell as vape batteries that are absolute crap somebody's gonna get hurt, or people will keep getting hurt and think oh its supposed to burn my fingers and taste like melted plastic, look at the smoke. Not clouds, smoke from burnt whatever. M80s ain't got nothing on someone with a shit battery that explodes.

Alot of people are not willing/able/comprehensive enough to understand all of these technical nuances I mean people inject their faces with I am a spammer ban me for crying out loud! I think this is why FDA is going to step in. People for the most part are lazy and dumb and figure they will just pay the price and they are set. Im pretty new to the vape world and have a lot to learn but most people don't research things like I do. It's sad but true. We as a community of vape enthusiasts have to help inform people or the govt will step in and say only regulated mods with safety devices that don't pass this watt/volt at this ohm will be legal.

And there's nothing wrong with having someone knowledgeable take care of that stuff, but when people in a shop have no clue or care what they're building, that's a problem.

Heres a quick comparison to keep this in perspective.
People who drive cars vs people who can change oil in their car
People who use electrical outlets vs people who can wire and install electrical outlets
People who use a gas grill vs people who can change the propane tank.
People who vape vs people who can rebuild their attys and service their mods

It is beyond me why any of these things are too complicated for an adult who is still alive. If you havent drown in the bathtub, driven off a cliff, or eaten poison and died yet, rebuilding an atty should not be above your intelligence. Shouldnt we all strive to be smarter, more self reliant, and more useful people? Why do people always find the easiest way out and forgo learning as a general rule?

In my mind it's the difference between an ecig user (no matter what they use) and a vaper (You and they know what they use). Unregulated Mods have made their way to ecig users, it is what it is.

Haha agree 100%. I think, to a certain extent, those of us who DO understand those things need to be proactive and point those things out to people when we know something unsafe is happening. Support the shops that do know their shit and don't set people up with hand grenades. I'm down to one shop (out of 5!) in this town that I will actually support, every time I've been in the other ones the fuckin hipster cloud-bros behind the counters are talking to customers (and me) like the ONLY way to vape is to get one of their super sub-ohm builds (that they'll make for ONLY $10 a coil!) and run it on one of their ridiculously overpriced, poor quality clone setups. I like to think money talks, if we give our money to the people that give a shit the others should fade away in time.

'there are people who drive fast cars, and there are people who know how to drive cars fast'

Makes me think of the kids who think they are the shit because they drive a little Honda with a muffler tip on it, or some other import car typically associated with street racing. Possibly lowered and/or low profile tires as well, but everything else stock. I was never big into street racing stuff, not the import cars nor the styles. But I drove my cars fast, and I knew how.

I can't count how many times I out drove some punk kid in a little honda on the twisty roads around here when I had my beat up old 95 buick century. And it really was beat up. It had been rearended at a red light, I hit a dear, and one icy winter morning I hit the passenger side doors on a brick wall while turning a sharp corner when an oncoming car suddenly came around the bend right after the intersection. Damn thing looked like it was in a demolition derby, but it drove great. Even had some kid in a Mazda RX7 fly past me at the bottom of a road then try to leave me behind on the hills and turns, was right behind him for 3 miles, watching him hit the brakes anytime a turn came up. Kept thinking to myself "wtf are you slowing down for". lol.

But, I like big ass gas guzzling trucks a lot more then cars.

Clouds = Money, especially when it comes to a vape shop. Every shop ive ever been to charges out the ass for juice, attys, mods, kanthal, batteries, and everything else for that matter. If they can get some inexperienced or dim witted person to buy a mech with an rda, they can also sell them batteries, juice, and 'pay per build' services. Its driven by profit.

Im lucky to have a good shop in my town. New people come in and they get sold ego twists and protanks. Experienced people get rdas, mechs and boxes. They actually care about safety and people. Hence, I do support them once and a while, when I can afford to pay 50+% more for my equipment.
Its called Vapors Cafe in greensburg pa. They are really good guys.

Yeah, don't get me wrong I'll do a bit of cloud chasing myself here and there it's fun! I just think that there are far too many dumb people out there that don't bother researching even basic safety and the shops/online retailers should find better ways of assessing the suitability of a setup for someone. If we don't start taking safety into our own hands the power to do it is going to be taken away from us!

And that comes back to the OP. KNOWLEDGE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN LIFE!
We are ultimately responsible for our own safety and happiness. Passing the buck to the next 'smarter' person is never a wise decision.

So, folks, please. Learn to take care of your own shit
Dont do it for me, do it for you!
Do it so you dont have to bug your boyfriend.
Do it so you dont have to pay your vape shop.
Do it to gain knowledge and be better informed.
