Ubisoft officially revealed Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle at its E3 2017 press conference.
The Mario and Rabbids RPG had two previous large leaks in May. The first leak Kotaku received from a source revealed the turn-based combat, local co-op, eight playable characters, and an August release. The second was the Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle key art, which showed Mario characters wielding weapons alongside Rabbids and corroborated a suspected August release window.
