Messed-up tapping Cloupor for Varitube 510 -- Help

Doing a DNA40 build on a Cloupor box. It's my first build. And of course I messed up one of the few things I've done before -- tapping. Hand tapped it with the Cloupor secured in a box, caught a snag, tried to wiggle out of it, then added a bit more pressure and it the box slid down in the vice. Now, my Varitube 510 just drops right in. Is there any way to salvage the box? I assume epoxying it would ruin the ground. Could I solder it down? Helicoil?

I don't have a dremel, unfortunately. I'm sure I could grind it back enough to use the nut, but I'd prefer to not have to throw any more money at this build.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Good deal, and just to clarify, when you say the outside, you mean to solder it to a ring terminal, correct? Not the eyelet that grounds it into the box?

Anywhere on the outside of the 510 will work but make sure its a good connection.
