I was born in western North Carolina, from a long line of folks with one leg longer than the other from walking on the sides of hills. :) Think I have just enough hillbilly left in me that I don't want anybody telling me what I can and can't do on my own land. I got to the point that the more the HOA talked, the more I just wanted to buy a worn out couch and a 1955 Norge refrigerator and put them out on the front porch. Put a few cars up on blocks and let the grass grow ass high. Yeah, that's it. Looking good to me. Kiss my ass and get happy.

My son was just in western NC for boy scout camp last summer.

East Texas has quite a few people who's tree don't fork much and is very similar minus the mountains. Our property is 300 acres and you can't see or hear the neighbors. Sometimes you can hear their dogs or cows.

I love in NC too. Nice and country for the most part. Cities are cities though. Always busy

had to move if I were to have any chance of gettin married.
Never heard of that, what with cousins on the board and all.....
My parents moved out of the NW hills to Kansas City MO where I was born and lived till I moved to the swamp 6 yrs ago. I can't go back to a big city again. If were to go back that way, NW Ark or southern MO around the lakes would be the closest I could get.
My father in law lives in Asheville NC, I like it up in there too.

Only cousin had there is a dude. Got no issue with it but I don’t swing that way.

I say all of this tongue in cheek but Arkansas has some of the most beautiful country. NW Arkansas is simply beautiful.

I don't know which cat is guilty of pissing on my treadmill. I am at wits end with the critters. At least they haven't attacked furniture or carpeting yet. I have cat deterrent spray. It doesn't faze them at all. I disinfect and spray but its useless. My treadmill is in the basement so maybe they feel its a guilty pleasure to urinate on it.
Blow up some smaller balloons and tape to the machine, first one he pops will cure the issue. Double stick tape works too.

I love cats, but can have one for two reasons. 1)My dog would eat it for a light snack sadly. 2)Both of my kids are allergic

I was allergic to cats, dogs horses. I stayed alnight with a friend when I was a teen and I was up throughout the night sneezing and wheezing, I had a hard time breathing. I had so much snot,it was gross lol. Come to find out I was allergic to pet dander, as I got older I got better and I'm not longer allergic to pet dander.

Might daughter may not have an issue as she gets older. For her it's mostly her skin, but gets some puffy eyes too. It has gotten a bit better though over the years.

It does clear up for some. I was horribly allergic to cats as a kid. Couldn't be in a house with them or my eyes and nose would run like crazy and sneezing my head off repeatedly. Now the most I get is a little sniffly but that's about it.

Dogs on the other hand were never a problem so I stuck with them for companions. I like dags!

I love dogs. I have 4 here at the house. Well one of them is mom's. But I've raised every one of mine from puppies. They're my babies :)

I have never heard of that combo. Sounds adorable though.

I have a thing for Akita's and Malamute's. I like super-sized plushies, lol.
I've always wanted a bull mastiff, but never had the room for it. Awesome dogs and quite protective of their human. I love pits too, but can't have them where I live. They have a bad rep that is horribly unfounded. I love them though as long as you raise them right.

Great White North dogs! Huskies, Samoyeds, Malamutes, so gorgeous and gentle and smart!
Yeah they are, and sometimes too smart for their own good! My Malamute was almost as big an asshole as me, lol. Mischievous as all hell but boy was he protective of me. I used to get some looks when I walked him because he was a biggun... the only male in the litter.

Yep. Amazing how pits get the bad rap instead of the idiots that raised them to be aggressive.

I know, my wife's cousin had one and her boyfriend raised to it to be racist. He was one of those Arian brotherhood morons. That doesn't fly in my house, especially since my nephew and neice are mixed. I had to retrain her to break that habit, but once I did she loved on the kids. She was a sweetheart as long as we were around, but let's say we were going to go out and you forgot your keys in the house. Well one of us had to go with you to get thembecause if you tried to go in without one of us, she would attack on sight. But she would love on you in the house if you came to visit. She was HIGHLY intelligent.

Good for you in breaking the bad training. It's crazy how there's still ignorant people like that in the world and then try to train their dogs to be just as ignorant.

I know. They were staying with us for a while and he even tried getting in my face when he didn't like something I said or didn'tagree with him. I told him that he could either shut the hell up, get out of my house or I could just start breaking bones till I got tired of listening to them crack, his choice and I didn't care which choice it was. He thought that I was supposed to be afraid of him because he was AB. Well that didn't work out well for him LOL. I literally laughed in his face.

Wow dude, now that's ignorant! Did you scream at him in your best Samuel L Jackson voice " this is my house mother ......!" ? :giggle:

Here's a funny but true story that happened a few weeks ago. I walked across the street to say hi to an old friend I've known for 30+ years. I knocked on his door and when he answered he smiled and said come on in. I step in the house and he had a 45 in his hand. I started laughing and said " dude I know your a black man living in a white neighborhood but damn, it's just me man". He busted out laughing and asked if I wanted to burn one like old times. :giggle:
