Mixing differently for specific tanks?

Liquid flavor production (for my limited experience) varies greatly with the different tanks and hardware they are used in. Such as in an RDA versus an eGo clearomizer.

A batch I made this weekend was great on a dual-coil RDA, but very bland on a Nautilus X. That leads me to wonder if I should be mixing the flavors proportionally heavier for clearomizers than RDAs or even adjusting the VG/PG base.

Do any of you mix your batches specifically for a type of application?

I mix for a friend who sometimes uses a nautilus. For that tank I will usually increase the overall percentage of flavoring from, say, 8% to 10%, and reduce the VG from 85% to 75%.

Interesting thread here as I just got a Nautilus X after using Nautilus Minis. I found the Nautilus X to not like Fruity e-Liquids and gives a better flavor and vape with Deserts. I also while experimenting with it have found that the recommended wattage is higher than where I find it delivers a smooth flavorful vape. I have tried both store bought and DIY in the N-X. I have not tried Tobacco in it yet.

My mixes thus far have all been 50/50 mixes with 10-12% flavoring. I think I'll try keeping the base around that level for tanks and bump the flavoring up a fair bit.

For my RDAs, I might try playing with the base ratio, since they don't need to be thin to wick to the coils.

I haven't yet tried a desert liquid in my X or Mini. I'll have to see how those vary.

I find different e-Liquids taste better at different Power Levels and Air Flow rates.

Do you find any patterns to that? Light flavors (fruit?) require certain heat/flow versus bakery or the like?

I find Tobacco likes a higher wattage and depending on the tank and e-Liquid will determine how and what wattage. I also find that ambient air temperature also plays a role in how I vape. Another thing is when I chain vape and heat up the tank that also factors in. So many variables.

Interesting. I think I'm going to mix my next batch a few different ways to see how they compare. Maybe a 70/30 pg/vg and a 50/50 for the ego/mtl/rta tanks and 40/60 and 30/70 for the RDAs.

I like my coffee and bakery vapes at a higher temp. Fruits I will vape at any where around 29-40 watts according to the coil I use. I also noticed that aspire coils - 0.5 ohms I think, if you are a coffee/cappuccino vaper like myself, tastes wonderful. When I vape my favorite premium juice Cup of Joe by Old Fashioned Elixer I get a wonderful mocha tastes in the coffee that I get from no other tank. When I vape Hic's Lemon Meringue at around 60-70 watts with Smok tank 0.3 ohms I taste every bit of each flavor that is in the recipe, and it's perfect. When I have my RDA's set up, I set them any where b/t 60-120 watts and I love to mess with the temps to bring out certain flavors in each recipe I make. You just need to find your own tweak or where your sweet or hot spot is.

Chocolate and/or Cocoa flavors in particular don't work too well with high temperatures and/or high power, at least not for me anyway.
