Layoffs have hit Sony's San Diego Studio today.
According to a tweet from a UI artist at the studio named Noah Watkins, his "entire team" has been laid off, though it is not yet clear which team at San Diego Studio he was a part of.

Watkins clarifies in a later tweet that it's not the entire studioThis comes shortly after reports of layoffs at Sony London earlier today. According to Gamasutra's report, it sounds like the team that works on the highly successful MLB The Show series is unaffected. That tidbit is from a now ex-employee of San Diego Studio, who made a statement to Polygon. Sony's official statement to them was as follows:
