Mod Upgrade??

Looking to upgrade mods. Currently I'm using a pico 75 watt with an aspire cleito. I've got 2 rda's ive been messing around with as well. I love the pico and will continue to use it when on the go.

However, I've been wanting something with more power and batteries. Dual, triple or quad 18650. For some reason, I really like mods that have each individual battery life on the display.

Rx200 or 300?. Smok has some good stuff, but i dont want an alien(2 of my friends already have them so i want something different). I know there are tons of mods... But any suggestions? Size isnt an issue, if i need a pocket mod, I'll use my pico. Also, i dont really need an expensive DNA mod. Would love to stay under $100.

Thanks!

The biggest problem for a vaper, deciding what to buy. I am going through that myself. I vape mostly in TC mode and just cant decide between Alien, Battlestar, RX200s, Ivp's......

I have an original Rx200 and love it. So I am pretty much leaning towards the 200's.

Decisions, decisions!

They are all good mods. The Rx is a great mod for the price. Keep in mind its the only regulated mod I have ever used coming off of mech's.

I kind of like that. I never messed with anything with built in batts. How are they? They ok for sub ohm I take it?

A few people who's opinions I trust are really liking them.

I have Tesla's Invader 3, the Nano and a Classic 2 and love them all very much. Only the nano has a lipo and it came to me used in a trade about a week ago. Been using the other two since last summer and really like them a lot.

My personal opinion is that Teslas are highly underrated in the budget mod world

I cant do any mods with a built in battery..i don't trust the onboard chargers at all and what happens if the battery does go south?..Throw out your otherwise working mod?...im liking my IPV400 as a go to daily mod...200w..does all the TC wires..Dual battery..Bright Display even in the sun..Small compact and comfortable in the hand and less than $50.00

I don't distrust built in batts like I used to, have some over a year old, none have ever let me down.

But if you like the IPV400, go for it.

I know at least one of the IPV versions was problematic, can't remember which one though, don't have any of them so can't say IME

I have a couple of mods with built in batteries that are going two years now. I have had regulated mods with external charging that have broken down. Also agree with @JuicyLucy (nevr disagree with her) that Tesla's products are great at the price. They have some decent tanks too.

I think it was the IPV 6 versions that have or had problems...That's why I chose the IPV 400 over the newer 6 version..The 8 version is supposed to have fixed any and all issues with the 6...Not knocking the suggestion you madei just feel built in batteries has its draw backs..As the battery gets weaker with use ( 200-300 cycles), its essentially becomes a mod you throw away, which is a shame because it works just fine otherwise...I suppose you can always pull the PCB and incorporate it into a custom mod box with replaceable batteries to keep using it.

@PaulS was joking about the disagree part, lol. I do agree with him on this, ha

I just avoid making recommendations about equipment I know nothing about first hand :)

I know nothing about IPV from personal experience

I know nothing about anything other than mech's and Rx's so I am just going to stick with what I know and get the Rx200s myself

My favorite triple 18650 mod is a Lost Vape Triade 250. It feels great in hand, looks great (imo), does TC really well, and has more power than I'll ever need.
Lost Vape Triade DNA250

Cheers,
Steve

Edit I just noticed you mentioned you want to stay below $100. I got mine on sale for around $111 each. I wouldn't have recommended the Triade if I noticed that in the first place

See, it really comes down to your own personal vape style and preference. I would just find a couple with the size and shape that you like, and read reviews and pick one. They are all good in their own right. You really cant go wrong with any of them. Out of all of the mods mentioned here, not one person has said "dont buy that it is a complete hunk of shit". Its all preference.

I love that mod also - but it is way more mod that a lot of people need for the price

Personally I'd say
Hohmwrecker G2, built like a tank and it can temp control any wire, and will fire as low as .007 in power mode

If you don't care about temp control as much and just want the dual battery life (or triple at a good price)

Triple or quads
Smok Marshall G320 (triple battery mod) loving mine so far
Smok GX350 (isn't out yet but it's a quad battery mod and smok's quality has been really good lately)
Sense Blazer I ordered one yesterday @Paratech has been saying it's a great mod and I trust his judgement

Dual batteries
Smok G-priv (if you want a touch screen)
Smoant Battlestar (can be found under 40 bucks, really good quality and I'm testing it for my reviews and have been very impressed so far with the results.)

I wouldn't bother with the RX series honestly but if you wanted something like that Vaporshark just released a triple battery mod that uses the same chip but most likely is a better quality then the RX series due to their reputation. plus the have much better customer service

I got an invader 3 arriving this week. Hopefully it's better then their tanks and their customer service though. I sent them an email about their tesla captain RTA which is a piece of crap and they never responded lol

There are many more than this list but these are the first ones that come to mind without having to look over at my shelves or look at inventory of my personal hardware.

In NO particular order;

Dual 18650:
Smok H-Priv
Smok G-Priv
HohmTech HohmWrecker G2
Smok Skyhook (AIO)
Smoant Battlestar
Ijoy RDTA Box (AIO)
Smok X Cube Ultra
Limitless Box Mod
Pioneer4You IPV5
Pioneer4You IPV6 (IF you can get the third release)
Pioneer4You IPV8 (I have one that doesn't recognise SS and one that works fine, you'r risk to take)

Triple 18650:
Sense Blazer
Koopor Primus
Vapmod Spartans

Quad 18650:
Ijoy MAXO

Dual 26650:
Ijoy LUX

If you have questions of want my personal opinion on any of these, feel free to ask.
I can also provide size comparison pics.

I tend to stick with DNA mods, mostly.
For quick errands or dinner i grab a tank and use a 60w provape radius; and, for kanthal rdas either a hexohm or an sx350j box.
But 99% of the time I'm using either a triade 250 or a dna133(now 167) flask.

Great input and information! I'm leaning towards a dual cell, but we'll see. I've already got 2 brand new vtc6's so maybe I'll grab a dual...

Just to clarify.... I cant run different batteries in a triple 18650 right? Ive got 2 Sony's and a imren.

Keep in mind alot if newer attys are going 24-28mm some even 30mm
If you do something like I did with the vaporflask, you'll be stuck with only 22s sitting flush.
The therion among many newer mods will let bigger attys sit flush.

I wouldn't recommend using different cells in a mod. I would use 3 of the same cells (preferably married, meaning they were bought at the same time and used together so they would have approximately the same capacity).

Steve

Seconding wings... I missed that line.

Never ever ever ever use different cells.
Always
Always
Always use the same batteries purchase together, charged together, discharged together.
They are like that annoying married couple that never does anything apart.
Best thing is to mark your sets so that should they get mixed up with the others, you'll know which are which

Thats what i was thinking. So even ordering a 3rd sony from the same vendor (since i have 2 right now) and running them in a triple mod, isnt smart? Maybe i will just snag a dual mod in that case then...
