Mod warming up even when turned OFF!!!

So I got an EVIC Primo Mini a little over a month ago. I thought it worked great at first although the battery seemed to drain fairly quickly and the mod itself got hot when vaping. I understand sometimes heat will transfer from the atty to the mod so assumed this was the issue.

However I've noticed that lately the mod warms up WITHOUT an atty attached and even when it's turned OFF!! I've tried several different batteries to ensure it wasn't just the battery. I had started noticing that a charged battery would be drained even after not being in use for a while or when the mod was turned off. If I remove the battery, let it cool down and put a new battery in after 5-10 mins the mod feels warm turned off with no atty. So I'm thinking that there is some sort of short in the mod somewhere.

At this point I'm a bit nervous to use this mod. I will likely post on the Joyetech forum to see if they'll do anything about it. Any thoughts or suggestions any of you have would be appreciated.

HA ... no it's sitting WITHOUT a battery installed at the moment. I've contacted Joyetech through their customer service. I would think they would replace a device that's just over a month old. Time will tell.

Thanks for the replies! :D

Don't use it. Joytech should cover it under warranty if you bought it a little over a month ago.

No ... Joyetech has NOT gotten back to me. I contacted FastTech and am dealing with them but that seems to be a PITA as well. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to send pics or a video of a mod heating up! I just posted on the Joyetech forum as well but of course all the threads are 'EXAMINED' before they post them so who knows if it will go up.

I think this is my last Joyetech product. I had issues with my VTC Dual after about 6 months of use and now the Primo Mini. My son also got a Primo Mini and has problems with the USB charge port and the fire button occasionally sticks. Not sure what's going on with Joyetech's quality control lately but keeping my FACE is more important than the few bucks I'll save. And constantly sending mods back due to issues isn't the answer either.

However my Eleaf Istick 50 that I started with 2 years ago still seems to work fine!!! :D

I've had three istick 30s (gave one away) and an istick 40W TC in rotation for 2 years and all are still going. Now I have two istick Picos and just got two Evic VTC minis and we will see how they do. :D

I had the VTC Mini and it worked well while I had it. I gave it to my son when I upgraded to the VTC Dual. Didn't have many problems with it really. One of the magnets kept falling out and I'd glue it back in. And the paint chipped like crazy on it. My son still has it as his backup unit.

I'm thinking of getting the GeekVape AEGIS! Looks like a rugged mod that can take a beating and it's basically waterproof. :shades:
