Mods at risk?

I have sub ohm tanks and want to use my Nickel coils without worrying about blowing up a good mod like the iJust2 or MVP 3.0 Pro or any other non-temperature control regulated mod just because I forgot I had a Nickel coil in a given tank rather than SS or Kanthal. Can anyone respond definitively on this?

This was part of a disclaimer/warning on a 5-pack ad description:

Aspire Triton Ni200 Nickel Replacement Coil

Coil Specifications:
  • 0.15 ohm Ni200 Nickel Replacement Coil
WARNING!
Risk of battery explosion! Ni200 is designed for use only with devices equipped with circuit boards capable of controlling coil temperature, such as DNA 40. Do not use this product with any other type of device whatsoever

Well thats what regulated mods do. They have rules as to how high and low ohms you can fire. If you put something on a regulated that's to low, its not going to fire. You can Google the ohms range for those devices to find out for sure before you order. But I'm pretty confident that's way to low to work on either of those.

.15 ohm Ni200 head shouldn't blow your mod up if you accidentally fired it for a second then changed it. Obviously I recommend against this, but accidents happen. I would suggest getting a tank for temp control, and a tank for non temp controlled devices if.

One way to be safe is always check your ohms before you take a pull. Any nickel coil is going to be really low (.05-.15 for mine) and most regulated mods wont fire that low. If your using a mix of temp control wire material that may not always be a clear indicator so i recommend using/getting a few vape bands for tanks you have TC coils in

You should ONLY use nickel coils with a mod that has a temperature control setting. You won't blow up your box, but nickel isn't meant to be vaped on a normal power setting! I don't think either of the ones you mentioned that you have do TC.

Thought I would post this reply to my query to clarify in hope that someone doesn't ruin their Mod. I plan to only use NI200 coils with TC mods to be safe.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for contacting us.
The iJust 2 battery cannot work with Nickel coils. It is not manufactured with temperature control.
Using Nickel coils will damage it.
Thank you.
