Mods not as good as disposables - what am I doing wrong?

I love White Cloud Fling Wide Mini disposables. Lots of vapor, great taste, easy and convenient. But I do hate throwing away all those batteries and spending all that ca$h. So I bought a Tesla M-4 mod and it's OK, but I don't like the form factor and it still doesn't produce anywhere near as nice flavor and thick cloud as the Flings. I tried various liquids from Aqua Vapor, Two Peas in a Pod, and a local vape shop. Next I bought a Reuleaux RX75 Mod kit with an Armor Mini tank. It sucks. Even set relatively low (15W) it crackles and tastes hot or burned. Updated it to the latest firmware, but still half the time there is little to no vapor, and never is it as smooth and tasty as my disposables.

Before I give up and chuck all this crap out, any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

Taste is all from the tanks and coils, not the battery or mod. Of course you need a good tasting juice or it doesn't matter what you use. Also nicotine level above 6 in a subohm tank may not agree with you.

Sounds like you just need a good tank. Tons of choices but a crown V1 tank with 0.25 SS coils is an older but still great tasting tank.
You can do some searching here and read about many other tanks to get an idea of what may apeal to you.

I'm not familiar with the tanks you mentioned but on the armor tank, what resistance is the coil? 15w sounds like you are getting cracking and popping from not running enough power to vaporize the liquid. Turn up the wattage, make sure you're in power mode, not temp control mode.

No idea what the specs on the tank are. Not listed on the site where I bought it as far as I can tell (vapenw.com/catalog/product/view/id/16071/).
The cracking and popping still happens when cranked up to 30-50w+. I'm a little skeptical about throwing more and more money at this problem. The tank came in the box with the mod and there are tons of rave reviews.

And I get that I may not particularly like the flavor, but I'm not getting a comfortable vapor hit to begin with. I've tried 50/50 PG/VG up to 30/70. Still none provide the hits the disposables do.

It's VG/PG not PG/VG

Most people find disposable e-cigs inferior.

Every atomizer has it's recommended wattage range and way of vaping.

If you use it the wrong way, like vaping it way below or above it's recommended wattage, or using an atomizer suited for DL and using it for MTL, you won't get good results.

Hard to diagnose over the net but you could have flooded the coil from running it at too low of a power level. Sucking juice in faster than you are vaporizing it. Coil seems to be a 0.20 ohm coil so I would start at 40w and work up from there to see if the coil clears out and gives good vape (vape it for a little while at higher power to let it burn up some of the excess juice). Once the vapor is too hot or is tasting burnt, you have given it too much power, reduce to what works for you.
