Little less cotton. Maybe a lil space between wraps. Make them as close to identical as possible; height, distance from center post, centered in relation to the air holes, etc. If it's still not satisfactory to ya, try dropping a wrap. Takes a bit of fiddling to dial 'em in sometimes.
It all comes with time. You'll find what works for you and more importantly what doesn't. It's a lot to take in at first, but as long as you take your time, it'll click. I think we've all had the issue where are significant just shakes their head and doesn't understand...but now they get it also.
Just keep on building. Keep asking questions, there's lots of helpful folks here. Take notes if you have to. What's worked, what hasn't. It's nice to have a reference. And the wife may be shaking her head but I'll bet she's damn thankful she's not going to have to bury you because of a smoking related illness.
Looks like one coil is contact but the other has spaced wraps and is bent it the middle, and the legs are different. Try to make each coil a mirror image. The "Post your Builds" thread is worth a look or three...
