Hello everyone, my name is Meg. I am a smoke-free vaper with a 9-year history of trying to quit...and trying...and trying, and finally getting and staying quit.
I tried Chantix first, bad idea. It really did something to my brain, I became suicidal shortly after stopping the medication. I did, however, quit smoking for the first time, so I had the experience of what being smoke-free feels like after years of smoking cheap, "full flavor" cigarettes like I was an angry steam engine.
But I didn't stay quit.
I quit cold turkey another time, smoke free for two weeks that time I think. Chugging juice and super-cleaning my apartment 5 times (and not going outside for 3 days) worked that time, but didnt STAY QUIT!
2013 I tried Blu cigarettes. They tasted wonderful and I liked the novelty, but they didn't satisfy and two little batteries wasnt enough for me to use them as much as I needed. So no quitting.
Tried Ego and no-brand clearomzer after I found out I was pregnant, now I was super motivated. Couldnt stay quit.
Bought a Halo G5 kit in the Spring of 2015. It was okay...tasted good, and I was smart enough then at least to bump up the nicotine to 24mg. It helped, I smoked less, but didnt quit all the way and also got nicotine sick several times . That's when I started looking at vape forums online and shopping...and shopping
...and regretting purchases...and shopping lol
Then I bought a Horizon Arctic, I liked it but I couldnt go over 30 or 40 watts with the box I had. Kanger Subox Mini Kit, immediately messed with the RBA coil but didn't like how tight the air was, then Horizon Arctic put on it, and I finally could go without cigarettes, no more frustration. Then I did a bunch more shopping, browsing and coil building and eliquid mixing got added on to my vaping hobby, and here I am. I still browse the new stuff but rarely buy, because what I have now works, I can survive with just one RTA and one RX200 now but of course with new flavors to try I like multiple tanks.
I had a mini meltdown in 2016 when I realized how much I had spent on vape gear, it was wayyyyy more than I would have on cigarettes (they are cheaper here than most places, though) so I started giving stuff away to keep myself from obsessing over trying one new variation in all my RDAs and RTAs.
I also didn't stay quit from smoking totally until I decided to stop making it about success or failure, all or nothing. Once I gave myself permission to have a cigarette if I wanted to, I stayed totally quit, odd how my mind works. Every time I did have a cigarette after that decision, they were NEVER worth it, I mean yuck man.
I started my account here about a year ago but I never introduced myself so, hi
Tl;dr Hi I'm Meg, clouds bro clouds.
