My Verdict. Vaping SUCKS!

They say vaping is safer than smoking cigarettes. But vaping makes me cough when I take a drag. Cigarettes don't. So there is something that still isn't good with vaping. Also, vaping as it is known today only began in 2003. While smoking tobacco has probably been around for thousands of years. (In the Western Hemisphere) So it doesn't seem to me that having started in 2003 gives enough of a background to judge on how safe it really is.

I recently bought a vape pod. I have tried switching to nic salts and lowering the wattage on my vape pod. It still makes me cough a bit after I take a drag. For some reason, younger people don't seem to be bothered by the water smoke that comes from vaping. Years ago my niece offered me a drag off her vaping device. Who was of course much younger than me. Vaping it didn't seem to bother her. But when I took a drag, I coughed hard before I even got a chance to fully inhale the "water smoke." I have also seen younger people out on the street that were vaping. They exhaled a huge cloud of vapor smoke. It didn't seem to phase them in the slightest.

Maybe I just have overly sensitive lungs. Some years ago I had just recently gotten over the flu. I called a taxi to get a ride home. Which was about 2 1/2 miles away from where I lived. The taxi had an "air freshener" hanging from the rear view mirror. Which normally don't bother me. But I think because I had recently gotten over the flu, their air freshener caused me to cough from when I got picked up till I got dropped off.

Who knows. Maybe for the nic salts vape juice I got, 35mg of nicotine is still too high. Maybe I should try something that is around 18mg of nic salts. That is what my old freebase vape juice was. Which made me cough. Maybe if it was 18mg of nic salts instead, that will do the trick. Also, quite a few years ago I bought an electronic cigarette kit. It was one of those that looked like a cigarette. These days they call them cigalikes. The white part of it was the rechargeable battery. The filter part that screwed onto it contained whatever kind of vape material it used. When the filter part ran dry, you had to replace that part. It wasn't refillable. From what I remember, that didn't cause me to cough at all. Maybe I should try something like those again.

Somebody around here suggested that my UWELL Crown X vape pod wasn't the best choice for me. It could very well be that they were right. Whoever that was, and for anybody else around here, could you suggest a type of vaping device that would be as mild as that old "cigalike" system I used to have was like? Something that is both rechargeable and refillable? I don't like the idea of buying anything made of plastic that you have to dispose of when it runs out.

I'll be nice here. My husband has a problem choking on vape vapor. The only way he could enjoy it is when he uses an 510 drip tip. The 810 tips allow too much vapor for him. Disposables have a blend that makes him cough. I mix my own juice with a blend that is mild enough that he won't choke on it. Yet, he prefers to smoke. That seems to be your preference as well. Good luck on finding a cig-a-like that is refillable at all. Vape pens maybe, but not what you are looking for.

Edit: if you really want to vape and not choke, look for drip tips with a really small hole. That way, you get a tight draw, allowing less vapor at a time. That way, you are getting the same draw you get from cig-a-likes.

I don't choke on vape vapor. I cough. It's two different things. Maybe what I need to do is look for a vape pen that has a longer draw tube on it. That way, the vape may have a chance to cool down some. That may make it less harsh.

if the draw tube were long enough by the time the vapor got to your mouth it would have condensated into water.
good luck inhaling water.

Try vaping a reasonable amount of nicotine, 6mg or 12mg. Maybe try 0mg.

If you still cough, then you should quit vaping.

I gave this guy the best advice I can offer after he called me stupid several times. Either he accepts it, or he goes back to smoking and trolling this forum. Better yet, he can go to ECF, and bother them if he don't want us trolling him. LOL

Me being nice to someone like him is only going to last so long.

If I am going to vape, I would like to vape with something that has the same amount of nicotine as a drag from a cigarette would give you. Otherwise, what's the point.

I listened to your advice. Maybe I will get a vape pen instead. Also, how do you get that I called you stupid with my last reply. All I said was that there is a difference between choking and coughing. If you prefer to call coughing choking, it is up to you. You can do what you want. I just didn't find it to be an accurate description is all.

I was a long-time smoker (two packs a day for over 40 years) and 12mg was more than enough to satisfy my nicotine needs. I slowly reduced my nicotine level and only vaped 0mg now. I found that only the act of inhaling something was what my habit was.
Nicotine is a poison, and high amounts can harm and kill you.

the point is to slowly ween yourself off nicotine altogether 9+ years of vaping and i'm finally at 3mg currently. it ain't a race bubba. it will take as long as it takes. when i first started vaping i was using 16mg. i doubt i could handle that high of a nicotine strength today.

Your body expects smoke, not vapor. Your tiny little brain will react to that, and you will cough, because it's not what is expected.

We all cough at first. We don't just give up, bitch about it on some forum, and expect someone to magically come up with the solution for you. What works for one might not work for another. In other words, your mileage may vary.

gawds i coughed like crazy when i first started vaping,,, but then again i remembered my first real drag off a cigarette.1 of my dad's as a matter of fact a (Homerun) i think i was 11 maybe 12 at the time. those things were friggin' chest busters and i still managed to some how not puke my guts out. but the memory was etched in my brain of that seemingly searing heat going down my throat. the buzzing in my brain and ears. 2 weeks later he (my dad) gave me my first beer. when i signed up he bought my a bottle of bourbon a cigar and handed me $100 and told me "don't spend it all in one place, and don't get in more trouble than i could, and trust me bubba that'll give you plenty of lee way"
yep my good old pops was a real man. ok i've said enough!
