My wife is finally ready to try vaping

I've been vaping over 5 years but my wife wasn't interested (she liked her smokes) Now she tells me she is ready to try vaping. She thought she would be happy with a disposable but I convinced her to try a refillable pod device (besides, we have a flavor ban here in CA) I already make my own e-liquid and told her I will make juice for her for free. Ordering is such a hassle now (shipping, proof of age, signature fee... and you have to be home when it gets delivered) Myself, I order from sourcemore but it takes a long time to ship... she wants something now. Our local smoke shop has several choices (including SMOK and even though I have heard they are much better now, I prefer other brands) They have two I suggested to her: Vaporesso Xros 2 and Uwell Caliburn G (older models but have good reviews) Price is similar. Which one would you choose? I love vaporesso coils... have not tried uwell. Both have fire button and "auto draw" (she insists on auto draw)
On a sidenote: she wants juice that "taste like a marlboro" (sound familiar?) I explained to her that is not possible. Will talk about that on another forum)

Both Xros & Cali are very popular. i can't speak to those specific devices but i've found Uwell's coils to be very flavorful (& you already know Vaporesso's are good). That said, if i'm not mistaken, the Cali G uses replaceable coils while the Xros 2 uses replacement pods. Given her inexperience, your wife might find the Xros system easier, which could make it more likely she sticks w/ vaping.

You may be able to find online e-liquid recipes that attempt to replicate Marlboros. i took a quick look at e-liquid-recipes & saw a few.

It was an easy choice... they had extra pods for the Vaporesso Xros 2 but no extra coils for the Uwell Caliburn G. Also, the Xros comes with 2 pods (0.8 and 1.2 ohm) This will give her a chance to try both (the extra pods are 0.8 ohm) If she ends up liking the 1.2 ohm better, I can ask the store to order some. There is no adjustment for power but the specs say 11/16 watts (I assume it detects the coil and sets power automatically) I'm not sure how strong to mix juice for these... since she is trying to quit smoking, I'm thinking 12 mg/ml I currently use 6 mg myself, so can mix these and end up with 9 mg if needed (for the 0.8 pod) She wants to try my RY4 mix (when I mentioned caramel and vanilla, she got very excited) Also she mentioned berry so I will also make my all VSO recipe (blackberry, blueberry and cheesesake)

Each cig quit journey is unique and subjective, but for what it's worth, and other people I know have also found it to be true, when you're trying to quit cigarettes, start your vape at 18mg nic. You'll probably later drop to 12mg when you feel secure as a vaping nonsmoker.

For a vape that tastes like a cigarette, some of the cigar flavors actually work, with maybe a little raisin flavor added if you're doing DIY. I used to like ECBlends Cuban Gold, but what they use for nic now is the synthetic, so I don't buy their stuff anymore. They do, however, offer the flavor in a "short fill", with room left for adding your own stuff. The cigar liquids don't taste strong like a cigar. They taste like tobacco.

I wish your wife the best of luck, sweet health, and freedom from the coffin nail stinky sticks.

Update: she said the juice I made for her is "too strong". I asked if she feels dizzy or nauseous or did she mean it makes her cough... she said cough. I explained to her this is common when switching from cigs to vape (and her friend at the shop were I bought the pod/mod told her the same thing) Now we are just trying to find a flavor/recipe that she likes best before I mix a bigger batch. She was very interested in "samoas" cookie recipe but said no chocolate (so basically cookie, caramel and toasted coconut)

Well I didn't expect this... she tried a disposable (with nic salt) and liked it better. All of the ones available here in CA have "ice" (cooling agent) It seems to be a way around the flavor ban? Both of us feel the ice is too strong (and 5 % nic is also very strong) but not too bad if you take very short light puffs. I even got one myself (they are called Lost Angel) We both like the "blue" flavor (berry/grape?) Hey... it worked for her! She totally quit smoking (I wish I could say the same but I'm still a "dual user") I did quit for a year with the help of vaping but slipped back into doing both. I am very proud of her.
