I have to wait a whole year to eat these bad boys. I can only get them when the fair comes to town for the 4th of July. This is by far the best chocolate oreo recipe I've tried. You don't see very many of them, or at least I don't.

1% chocolate FA
1.8% cookie FA
1.5% cream cheese icing LA
0.6% joy FA
0.6% meringue FA
1.0% vanilla shisha INW
0.4% zeppola FA

Being mostly FA makes this an amazing S&V!! I made a 10ml sample and had to make a 30ml the next day to allow steep testing. I thought at least the zeppola and joy would need a steep but I don't notice any change. I'm guessing because they're used in low percentages.

Enjoy!

So I made a couple of versions of this (and have a V3 waiting to be made yet) & I wanted to come in here & let you know how the first two turned out. V1 was made exactly like you've published it (6.9%) & V2 was 12.98%. Why, you ask? Well after 30 years of smoking Camel straights (2 packs a day), my taste buds aren't all that well, tasteful. It is getting a little better, though the last few years. Anyway, when I see a recipe that looks interesting (like this one), I will make it , even if I believe the percentages to be a little low for me, but I will also make a V2 using the exact same flavors where I am normally comfortable at. I had to really hold back on some modifications flavor-wise that I believe might even make it better, because I want to taste the exact flavors the author intended (V3 may get a little crazy, though).

The results- The original was a pleasant taste (although I haven't used FA Chocolate without adding some FA Cocoa & AP to it in quite a while). It was a little light, but seemed like it was ready to vape pretty much right off the bat. I believe I just needed it cranked up for my old, dead taste buds.

V2 at 12.98% was not as good as early (tasted a bit muddled & unidentifiable), but I let it hang around for 3 weeks in the back of my cabinet & now I am pretty happy with it. I can pick out the individual flavors pretty easily. It also taste pretty spot-on (like the original), just at the stronger percentages I need. I really like it! You should be proud of making a good recipe like this!

I WILL be making that V3 down the road, but it may take a while (and maybe a V4, 5 or even 6!) to get what I want, or it might not turn out & I come back to the V2, which wouldn't be a huge disappointment anyway! What I will go after on V3 though, will be adding a touch of AP & some FA Cocoa (which I usually do when working with FA Chocolate), some OOO Powdered Sugar & bringing in some FA Metaphor to help support the Zeppola. I like Zeppola, but to me it's a bit dry & tends to fade fast. Metaphor can give you that same, fried-dough flavor, to me a little more moist & with more mouthfeel.

Like I said, this is a really good recipe, but usually I can't help but tinker. Sometimes it's for the better & other times it isn't! Either way just like your Green Apple Flavorburst, there will be a version of this quite often in my regular rotation. Thanks for sharing it! :D

OMG . I just found this little beauty.
Right up my alley, it sounds delicious.
Now, I have HC chocolate, DRIP HACKS chocolate and FA Cocoa to sub.
I have no INW Vanilla.
I have FA Vienna cream???

Idk that's a lot of subs. You can try it, keep the percentages the same and see if you like it.

I'd definitely pick up the missing flavors eventually.

Don't know if the restaurants are around in your area, but just thought I'd mention that I saw Deep Fried Oreos on the menu at Huddle House.

I haven't tried them, so can't vouch, but the first chance I get....

Also, finally planning to mix this, this weekend. I've still got juice everywhere, but I have waited as long as I can stand it. :D

ETA: Read through this whole thread just now, lots of questions about a sub for LA Cream Cheese Icing. Haven't tried it, just thinking out loud, but how about (of the total icing percentage) about a 40/60 ratio of some kind of cheesecake and either FA Frosting or TFA Vanilla Cupcake, and maybe a drop of butter?

Actually.......lemme think for a minute......fresh03 had a sub for cream cheese icing.....I watch “Fresh from the Kitchen” when I’m on my stationary bike. I wanna say HS Italian cream, but I could be wrong. It’s similar to marscapone. I’ll do some research tomorrow.

Edit.....yup. I was right! HS Italian Cream can be used as a sub for LA.

Cupcake and cheesecake I think would be way off. I still don't know of a good substitute. Let's see what wildgypsy comes up with. She's quite the flavor guru these days.

Lol! Flavor guru.....flavor hoarder is more like it. What I did find out was this.....HS Italian Cream has been described as tangy, cheesy, cream cheesy, Greek yogurt, sour cream, marscapone......great addition to cheesecake, cream cheese icing. Twangy. Sooo.....it could work. Its also strong.....0.25-0.75 strong. It might need a little sweetening up.

I’ve used it once or twice. It’s heavy, thick mouthfeel. It does make cheesecake twangier. It’s not particularly sweet. I think it’s heavier than LA CCI. I guess the only way to find out is give it a shot!

LA cream cheese icing might be able to be found at your local grocery store.

Thanks to you, if something happened that I could only have 10 flavor concentrates, total...LA Cream Cheese Icing would be one of them (a BIG bottle). I use that stuff in several different recipes. It's one of those "gotta have" flavors that I don't want to be caught without!

It's well worth ordering the missing flavors - the cream cheese icing is very important in the recipe
