Hey guys I'm need help with a dry hit issue, i have a smok pen 22 and a wismec rx2/3 with a sense herakles v2 tank. On both, if i don't vape either of them for a while or if i happen to leave them in my car over night and i go to take a hit on either, i get a dry hit and almost always cough and get a hell of a throat hit. I have to hit either of them quite a few times before the throat hits are even bearable and quite a few more times before they actually vape like they should. This is a consistent happening and not sure what's causing it, the juice i use is 70/30 6mg

You didn't mention how long you've been vaping so I figured I'd ask this:
Are you certain it is a dry hit and not the fact that you aren't used to vaping and the higher NIC on these types of tanks aren't just a bit strong but after you get a few hits in you adjust to it?

I have to agree, 6mg might be a bit much in a Herakles, I'd recommend dropping it to 3mg. On the odd chance, it's not the nic, you might want to try taking a pull or two on it without firing it before firing it to make sure the wicks are good and saturated. I'm betting it's the nic, though.
If you are actually getting dry hits meaning burning the wick, it won't get better, the wick is shot...change the coil or wick. If for some reason the atomizer is not getting liquid to the coil or wick, take a couple pulls from the tank without firing it first, this brings liquid to the coil or wick.
One other thing, I have a couple of Herakles tanks, and once in a while you'll get a hold of a coil that the cotton is just too tight and it helps to take a needle or straight pin and pick the cotton a couple of times through the juice inlet slots to help the juice flow into the cotton better.
What is build and wattage.......
I vape .6mg 60%+PG but at less than 25 watts... actually if build is running at over 25watts I start diluting the nic, increasing nic, and even adjust flavoring % sometimes.
Big difference in juice composition needs for a .3ohm coil running at 20watts vs a .3ohm coil running at 50 or more.
Funny thing is at end of day regardless if vaping 6mg at 20watts or
mg at 60 or more.. I always use the same nearly 60 mg of nic perday.

Thanks for the replies! I've been vaping for a while and I had an alien with a tfv12 with 6mg and I still got little to no throat hit. I usually vape anywhere from 45-60 watts.
And yes the juice I use is 70vg

The juice is blue pucker from avail. Yes I used the exact same juice in a tfv12 and no noticeable throat hit, even on a 3 second hit on 180 watts.

Yes the flow is open fully. I was saying I use to hit 6mg on 180 watts with my tfv12. I now vape around 50-60 with the herakles

Going from 180 watts to 60 is a big jump..... I vape 6mg at 25 watts if I went to 10 watts i would need 12mg or more. If i go over 30 I want less than 6mg....
Maybe bump the nic up on the lower power build.....

Hey guys thanks for the input! I fixed my issue, I figured out that the preheat time was 30 watts for 1 second. Turned it to 65 watts for .5 seconds and works great now!
