Need help with batteries

hey every one I need some info or your thoughts on what batteries I should be looking to get. I am currently using a snow fox 200w with a mutation v4 rda. I find my self building coils with lower and lower resistance and what to make sure I have safe set of batteries. I am also wanting to get started using nickel coils so I can use the temp control on my box. Would like to know what some of the top batteries are currently out there.

either samsung 25R's or LG HE2/HE4 those are the top batteries right now the 25R's have up to a 100A pulse. although thats for less than one second i would go with those if you are building really low i think they are the best to handle that. you can find great prices at http://liionwholesale.com/

Build resistance has nothing to do with battery current in a variable power mod. Battery voltage and watt setting determine battery current.

With a partially drained 25r 20 amps @ 3.5 volts (typical according to the discharge curves I've seen) is 70 watts. Snow Wolf has 2. So at that charge level on 2 batteries, you are talking 140 watts @ the maximum continuous discharge rate. You also will loose power in the conversion. If I planned on vaping at 150+ watts, I would choose 30 amp max discharge batteries. The build wont matter as long as you are within limits of the mod.

Neither if you want to stay within the continuous amp limit. You're only good up to 128W with a 20Acell, which the VTC5 is, unless it's protected by an 80c cutoff. Vtc4 would handle it.

Personally I'd use some LG HD2, 25A 2000 mAh.

Thanks for the response. Although the mod will do 150 W, I am very rarely above 50W. Its only there so I have dual battery capability. I have some VTC4's and they are pretty good. I see the HE4 or HE2 appear to be pretty decent as well. Any thoughts on those as well?

If you're that low in watts then the 25R/HE2/HE4 are all great (and very similar in our testing), but as he mentioned you shouldn't run it at full power without a vtc4 or HD2 in there.

If you're really running less than 100W all the time you can also consider the new LG HG2, that's a 3000mAh one that works really well.

I am not familiar with HD2. Couldnt find it on your site. Maybe I wasnt looking for it correctly.
I am very rarely over 50, and never over 100. I dont like the hot vapes so I stay usually around 35 - 40 watts all the time.
I just ordered the Sig 75 TC but again I expect that I will have that around 35W or so even with the Billows V2 dual coils. Ive never taken my temp devices up over 40J or W.
If I understand that correctly, the HG2 (3000mah), HE4, or HE2 all would work as would the 25R, VTC4? Is my understanding correct.

No you're good, we actually don't sell the HD2 right now:). When I'm posting here I don't do it from a commercial perspective, so I don't give any preference to what we actually carry.

Yeah under 100W the HG2 is great, under ~120 the HE2/HE4/25R/VTC5, and above that the VTC4 is the best around (all assuming dual batteries). It's generally a good thing to have a battery that can handle anything your mod can throw at it, in case of malfunctions or anything and also so you don't have to think about your batteries. But if you know what you're doing and make sure it's working properly and aren't using full power then you can use a lower rated battery which can be nice because you get more mAh out of it.

Thanks for such and great response. I had forgotten about the commercial aspect vs actual stock levels.
It sounds then like the HG2 would work great in the dual battery 150 W mod AND also my new SIg 75W.
I do have a married set of VTC4's that I have in my IVP3 now (again that has never even seen 70 watts even for testing). I will pick up another set or 2 for the dual box just in case I need to learn to do a crazy build that requires more than 100 W that the HG2 wont handle
Thanks again for the awesome input

Everyone else has pretty much covered it.

Like both those LG cells. Not much between them.

If you Vape at around 50W there's no problems using the HG2s. I've got a couple on the way to try in my Sigelei 100W. I Vape at around 55-75W, though their 20A rating will cover me to 100W if I wanted. Hoping at 75W I'll be in the sweet spot for some good capacity.

Any good OEM cell has your back at the wattage you will use. Could always grab some VTC4 from Jon as well for if you want to do some crazy builds and need 150W.

So vaping at .18 on those LGHG2 batteries would still have better life than the 25R's in a paralell unregulated box?

Not sure on unregulated. I wouldn't go below 0.2 on them as they're only 20A.

Not a mech mod cell in my opinion. From tests I've seen, discharging them at 25A caused permanent damage to the cells, as their capacity was adversely effected.

I'd stick to 25R and VTC4 for going that low. Preferably VTC4, but 25R can officially be pulsed 45A for 5 seconds and 30A for 6 seconds.

At .18 in a mech mod its at about 24 amps split between the two batteries should net about 12 amps per battery that shouldnt be close to damaging them right? Its close but still not at the 20amp limit

Missed where you said Parallel, sorry.

Should be Ok in a parallel config, down to around 0.14.
