Need help with flavor %

Looking for some advice on how strong to flavor juice. As of now, I still smoke to varying degrees so my taste buds are probably shot.

I'm looking to make a caramel coffee but not sure how strong to make the flavors. I'll be using Lor Ann flavors for this since that's what I have on hand. I used to DIY back in the day, not sure if I want to get back into it since I had limited success. I have the calculator so I'm good there.

In the past, I couldn't get the caramel to coffee ratio right. Any recipe or mixing tips/advice would also be appreciated.

I'm doing this just to experiment so I'm only going to use what I already have (hence the LA flavors). I know others are probably better but since I'm not committed to DIY yet I just want to see if I can get something decent before I start a buying spree

Thanks!

Dip a toothpick in a flavor bottle to get an idea of strength first, or a drop on your finger.
LA tends to be weaker than many others and the alcohol base distorts the flavor some IMO.
You will need to learn what each flavor tastes like first and mix till you "get it right".
I just fear your setting yourself up for failure by using LA (only), sorry.
Not a lot of help around here for recipes using that brand I'm afraid.

Kind of what I figured. Like I said haven't had much success with it in the past, may have been due to the flavor I was using.

While we're on the subject, what brands of flavors are regarded as the best?

FA, CAP, TFA, INW, FW, Hangsen, FE, DIYFS...LOL.

Each brand has both great and crappy flavors but we don't all agree on these.
I like carrots and spinach, but hate broccoli and cauliflower, get my drift.
That's what "taste is subjective" really means.
6 different brands of Blueberry to find the one/s I like best.
And on, and, on...

And, it also depends a lot on the type of equipment being used.
Coils, Wick, DL or MTL, sub-ohm, watts, TC, PG/VG ratio, etc.

Or, do you like fruity, bakery, creamy, custard, pick a starting point.
Might be easier to look through the Recipes to see what sounds good and then make a list.
Many of us could probably write a book about our likes and dislikes.
Read the forums till your eyes bleed basically.
And ask lots of questions:D.

I'm looking to make a caramel coffee but not sure how strong to make the flavors.

Just a thought on a Caramel Coffee type:
(As a starting point anyway)

FA Espresso or FA Tiramisu 0.5-1% (pretty strong flavors)
TFA Caramel Original 3% (pretty decent Caramel)
TFA Dairy Milk 2% (adds some Creamy sweetness)

So after further review, I think I'll just buy new flavors since the lorann seems to be widely regarded as crap.

Someone said my setup may make a difference so here's what I use:

Evic vtc mini @ 10 watts
Triton 2 tank @ 1.8 ohms
MTL vape

As a rule I do not sub ohm and don't do DL hits. Trying to get off cigarettes so prefer tighter draw.

My goal is a caramel coffee juice, I normally use 50/50 pg/vg

Hopefully this helps clarify what I use and what my goal is. Based on this new information, any recommendations for what brands/flavors are appreciated (obviously acknowledge that everyone's taste is subjective ) just looking for a jumping off point

Thanks!

Plenty of MTL folks here are willing to help.

Hang On to the LOR flavorings, though, as you may well find a use for them in your future as a DIYer! :)

I can't really help you, I've only got one Lorann flavour (cotton candy) and I use it just as an enhancer in my mixes.

You should try sub ohm'ing. I quit smoking after 16 years, and went with a Sigelei 150w and a freemax starre tank; it's been 3 months or so, since I quit and never looked back.

On my tank, you can adjust the air flow for a tighter draw or a looser draw; I prefer a loose draw.

This is the longest I've been without a cigarette.

Just a thought.

Plus, flavours come in pretty good on a sub-ohm and plenty of clouds, if that's what you'd like out of a vape. I use 6mg-30pg/70vg.

Good luck!

Hey forgot to ask, where do you guys recommend getting this stuff from? Any sites preferred over the others? Preferably somewhere that carries all the different brands we've been discussing.

Thanks again for all the help

I'm using the same setup, kind-of, and MTL also, and my recipes are kinda made for that type of vaping mostly.

Gee ... that list reads like anything but LOR.

Seriously, I like coffee vapes and prefer FA Espresso cuz it's so damn tasty. :)

Lol, well the OP asked which flavor brands were best.
LA wasn't on the list tho:D.

Actually, that might be a god reply to all those starting out.

"What kind of flavors should I buy?"

"Anything but LA."

I've yet t crack open the Cream Cheese Frosting so perhaps my personal opinion will be tempered and the recommendation will have an exception. :D
