Need help with my mod :/

So I bought my first RDA I believe it is. It's a nemesis clone, with a stillare 13569 tank dual/single coil. I have a MNKE 26650 battery. I didn't know at the time how to wick or build my own coils and the only vape shop In my city used to build my coils for me. They are no longer in business. Anyways. So I bought some organic cotton and some 24 AWG wire to build my coils on a .0 screw driver. I normally wrap about 5-7 times. And I use 6mg vape.

My questions are as followed:

I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. After I hit it it still smokes which would cause it to burn my juice?

I'm not sure how to build coils and how much cotton to use. YouTube isn't helping me as it confuses me :/

How do I save more juice so it doesn't consume so much?
First thing we need to know is what is your target resistance, and what is the resistance of that build.
Secondly.....you will do much better in the Builders Corner sub-forum under "coils".

If in doubt re roll on a 3mm, recheck the contact screw tightness and pray till your ohm reader gets there that it is not shorting.

And how would I know if it's shorting out? And where to look?
Hissing of the battery, hearing it arc or just having the battery go pop.
Go the same or 1-2 more wraps on a bigger diameter spindle, lower resistance gauges will take a minute to heat up and cool down.. the bigger diameter allows better cotton wicking.

So bigger coils like 3mm 5-6 wrap will cool down faster and allow better wicking. Where as in a smaller coil like a 0mm 5-6 wrap will take longer to heat up and cool down? If I understood that correctly?

hey bud, yes it takes thicker wire longer to heat up and cool down...you'll need a larger gauge drill bit like a 1/8 th (3.2mm) in diameter to wrap a good coil for that thicker wire...with out an ohm meter to double check, you're going to want to wrap each coil at least 7 times and make sure both coils are identical. With A1 Kanthal that should put you in the .25-.3 ohms range. The thing about these lower gauge wires on a mech is they only have whatever power the battery is pushing to heat them up...and since the resistance is so low and the wire is so thick it takes them longer to ramp up and cool down than if you had made a coil of the same ohms with a thicker wire like 26 gauge. The other reason you want to use a larger diameter drill bit or whatever to wrap your coils because there is so much current working threw the coil at that point that whether it gets hot enough to give you a good vape or not it is heating up and vaporizing the juice very quickly and with a small coil the juice won't be able to wick fast enough and you'll keep burning your cotton and getting dry hits.

if you have a .25 ohm build with 24 gauge wire and a .25 build made out of 26 gauge wire the 24 gauge build will be cooler if all other factors are equal. Even though the overall builds may come out to the same resistance, there is a lot more wire to heat up in the 24 gauge build and so it will heat up slower and cool down slower. The different in time can be a second or two or even less than a second but on a mech mod you can still notice it. Regardless of the build wire, you're still pushing the same amps on your battery at the same overall resistance. The reason why you need a bigger coil is so the juice can keep up and wick properly. You can't feed juice fast enough to those big low builds. That "still smokes" you're referring to is probably your coils cooling down after a couple long drags you've taken...I assume you take long drags as apposed to short puffs?

I know I repeated myself, I just tried to explain it a couple way so it made sense. I can go into much more detail if you'd like :)
