ok so im a shake and vape person. But i wanted to try the steeping process. I made a 30 ml bottle of my best juice. Its 3ml of strawberry ripe (TFA) 1.5 ml of NY cheese cake (caps) 1.5 ml of vanilla swirl (TFA) and 15 drops of sweetener. its a 70/30 vg/pg and 3 milgrams of nic. so when i make it it taste amazing but i wanted to try steeping for a month, My steeping process was I kept it in a shoe box let it breath once a day for a hour and shook it all the time. i have done a lot of reading on how to steep and this sounded to be the best method. And when i got done with the steep it turned dark orange and tasted nasty. what happened to it or did i do something wrong. please help

15 drops of sweetener? Whew! That’s something around1.5-2%. That’s a lot of sweetener! That might be the problem......someone else more experienced chime in??

let it breath once a day for a hour and shook it all the time.
I dont let any mixes breathe. I thought that was a technique for alcohol based flavors.

it turned dark orange and tasted nasty.
The nicotine in your mix might have been exposed to too much outside air. When nicotine oxidizes it changes colors.

I dunno tho, I dont know if nic would break down that fast.

Steeping for a month is good, but not repeated airing and shaking every day for a month, especially with any type of dairy flavorings, like your cheesecake. A little air in the beginning is good, but then leave the cap on for a long steep like that. Maybe shake every day, but with the lid on!

Typically the only reason to leave the cap off of something is if you are looking to tone down a flavor. (if it's too perfume-y or strong) Also, agreed with the above poster(s) that 15 drops is a lot of sweetener especially in a 30 ml bottle and considering that TFA Strawberry Ripe already has sweetener in it. (Ethyl Maltol and maybe something else)
