Nemesis getting very hot

Hello! My nemesis is burning the crap out of my hand! Is it something wrong with the batteries? I'm using real vtc5's that I got from liion wholesale. What's the lowest I can vape with on these batteries? Anyone know why this is burning my hand?

What is the resistance (ohms) on your build? It might be too low and your mod getting hot is a warning...know ohms law and how it relates to battery safety..and use a ohm meter to check that your builds are indeed safe if your are not doing that already..vape safe

I don't understand ohms law! I try but just don't get it. I'm using a mutilator rda. It's coming out to .22 ohms. What's the lowest I can go with the vtc5's?

My suggestion is LEARN ohms law ...before you get hurt or hurt others around you being stupid.. sorry to put it to you like that but it's the truth..your Nemesis getting hot is a warning..learn ohms law and battery safety for yourself.. After all you're the one vaping it...good luck

Ohms law calc makes things easy, just put in any 2 values to get the other 2
http://www.ohmslawcalculator.com/ohms-law-calculator

in a mech on a fully charged battery, 4.2 volts @ 0.22 ohms = 19 amps.
The VTC5 has a max continuous draw of 20 amps. Your near it's limit.

When it starts to get hot, have you tried opening it up and feeling the battery itself? I've had cases where my mod would feel hot but the battery itself would be cooler. The RDA was getting hot and the heat was radiating down and making the rest of the mod hot.

No offense taken dude! I understand that it's very dangerous! That's why I stopped vaping it. I'm gonna study ohms law and maybe one day ill get it. One thing I've never gotten is electricity. I appreciate you taking the time to give it to me straight!

I've checked the batteries but they feel cool. It's like a quick burst of heat time I hit the button. It does it no matter what rda I use.

Unfortunately, that earlier post was all I could really say on the matter since I don't use mechs.
Hopefully somebody that is experienced with using mechs will come along soon and provide more detailed information for you.

Your mod could be shorting. Some people take very fine sand paper and sand contacts and threads lightly. 1000 grit emery cloth should work. VERY lightly.

Well in that case I was wondering if the button is getting hot too..if so I would recommend taking the switch apart for a thorough cleaning with a q-tip and alcohol. Sometimes a dirty switch can make your mod overheat, but a hot button is usually the tip-off

Ok just wanted to get back to y'all! I cleaned the button out and cleaned the contacts. I sanded down the threads and contacts a bit and it's vaping like a dream! Not as good as my regulated mod but very good and not heating up at all. I wrapped a tidal coil with 28 gauge with a 2.4mm id. It came out to .33 ohms. I love this tidal coil so much! Thanks for the help guys!

Get yourself a VV mod with a subtank, until you come to grips with olms law, they have some pretty good ones out now that vape fantastic!!

What aren't you getting about it?

No need to "get electricity" it's just some basic algebra.

Amps = Volts / Resistance

So if you know your volts (4.2 for a 18650 battery) and you know your resistance (use an ohmmeter) you can easily find what it's going to pull in with the amps.

LIkewise another formula to know is for wattage.

Watts = Amps * Volts

You got your amps from Ohm's Law so now you can toss it in and see what kind of wattage to expect.

Just follow the rules for safety and use these formulas and you're all good, the people who get electricity already did all the work for us:)

OK outside of ohm's law you have some serious joule heating going on that is going to end up bad.
All mech noobs should stop and take it fully apart and inspect and clean the mech totally. Any flashing or stray bit is going to end bad for you.
If there is evidence of scorching or arcing stop, do not use it or battery. Throw the mech in the trash and dispose of battery properly.

That's joule heating if the switch is getting hot. Take it apart, clean it and make sure the threads on the mod (510 and switch are nice and shiny clean. The 510 center pin on the mod (positive) needs to be clean and free of oxidation too.
