Debuting on Netflix this Friday, the new comedy series Love stars comedian and writer Paul Rust (Inglourious Basterds) and Gillian Jacobs (Community) in what is, yes, a love story – but one going for a very down to Earth, realistic look at dating that focuses on both the perspective of Gus (Rust) and Mickey (Jacobs), two Los Angelenos.
Speaking to a group of press, Rust – who created the series with Judd Apatow and Lesley Arfin – and Jacobs discussed Love and its approach, which includes keeping Gus and Mickey in separate storylines for a longer time than is usual for a story like this, their characters’ non-glamorous Hollywood jobs (Gus is an on-set tutor, Mickey works on a call-in radio show) and more.
