I got some great batteries (VTCs 4,5 HE2s and many more) I wonder if I bought mech mod clones is it gonna be as safe as an authentic mech mod? (I know mech mod are not safe if you don't mastered it anyways. Its like carrying a gun with no safety) And what's the main difference of a clone mod and an authentic mod? And what's the difference between all of the contacts. I got pretty low budget around 100$ can I get a decent mech mod with that budget (no atomizer I got plenty) Last question what's the hybrid 510 adapter and do I need to use it with all the mech mods? Thanks

Most clone Mech mods are fine.
I recommend not getting a mech with a hybrid style top. Can be dangerous if you do not know hwat you are doing on one. With a hybrid style top the 510 on the atty amkes direct contact with the battery top. If the 510 pin is not long enough or it pushes up in the atty you will have a direct short on the battery. A very bad thing.

For a tube type I recommend a Nemesis clone. $20 and under. Hcigar is a decent brand for one.
the Nemesis also has a "safety" to keep it from firing when in pocket and such.

Hey thanks for the reply! My local shop don't have that much of mech mods but here's all of them
-advken madhatter v2 kit (authentic)
-Dotmod mech (clone)
-Subohm innovation Subzero set (clone)
-SMPL (clone)
-AV stromtrooper mod (not sure how to identify what it is)
What's the best choice for one of these fives?

That's the AV mod that my local vape shop got. Can anyone identify this?

Not really familiar with those except for the SMPL and I know it is a hybrid style.
To tell the difference if you look down in the hole where you screw your atty in and there is no center pin in there it is a hybrid style topcap.

Avoid the advken if you want to go below 0.5 ohms.....i bought an authentic one because it stated it's a full mech.....they lied...it isn't...its has wires leading to a 10amp max firing button....mine lasted 2 days on a .22ohm setup...then I had to replace the firing button and go to 0.5 ohms...0.5ohms is a poor vape for me so I shelved it...
Great looking...but very poor sub ohm vape for me personally ...

That's a fucking disappointment isn't it? Is that Dos Equis authentic? I have one in black copper that goes down to 0.08 without any signs of stress. That fucker hits like a grenade. It made me fall in love with parallels again.

There is nothing wrong with guns with no safety if you know how to use em.
For $100 you can get a new authentic VCP piglet, or used Authentic Dos Equis, or Kennedy Roundhouse tube. If you save another $50 you can get MCM Underground. All of these mods are well worth their price.

Yup...pity about the advken...looks n feels great in the hand...just shit vape for me...and unfortunately my dos is a clone but did me in good stead for over a year at 0.11 ohms...got replaced 6 months ago (after the advken failure)with a polished incubus with so horney rda...so I could go 6 coil builds...zero issues running at 0.05 ohms on the incubus...

Clones are a mixed bag, most of the time you have to monkey with them a bit to get them work right. There are some Clones that are excellent quality though, like I said it's a mixed bag. IMO for your first couple I would get a decent priced quality Authentic. Example for a great quality and in fact it is my favorite 18650 tube mod I have Beyond Vapes Oros V2.

Anyway I keep my "Lecture" handy and copy and paste when I see Newb's first coming into Mech's.

New to Mech's, here's my lecture -

1.Ohm's law, http://www.steam-engine.org/ makes it easy and there's even an app on it for Android

2.Batteries, fucking batteries, take good care of your batteries and know them!!!!!!!

a.Avoid shit batteries like eFest who rewrap rejects with grossly inflated amp ratings. Stick with authentic LG, Sony or Samsung from reputable (not eBay or Amazon) sources, great places that I get authentics from are -

http://liionwholesale.com/

https://www.imrbatteries.com/

b.Stick well within Continuous Discharge Rate (CDR) Not the "pulse"

c.Keep up to date with what Mooch tests and battery ratings, follow his posts on Facebook and his Blog and only use his recommend batteries.

d.In Mod's with multiple batteries, marry them.

e.Get some battery wraps, they're cheap and easy to re-wrap batteries. Any nicks, tears or what ever don't be stupid and just re-wrap.

3.Don't build stupid low a good builder can chuck and get awesome dense vape from a good build. It's simple, with 20 CDR Amp batteries -

a.Single battery mod's you're fine with .2 ohms on up

b.Dual Parallel you're fine with .15 on up. Parallel you take the full CDR of one battery then add 1/2 the CDR of the next battery

c.Series you double the voltage but you share the amps . So a series you build high with a lot of wire mass no lower that .4 ohms.

4.Make sure you don't have any shorts. For an extra caution any new build I will vape on a regulated mod for a few drips or with a tank about a 1/4 tank. This is to insure nothing wonky with my build like shorts.

5.Careful if it's not in your hand, if it doesn't have a lock on the button and you pit it in your pocket (which I really don't recommend) insure nothing else is in your pocket and it's loose. Don't want to put it in your front pocket and blow your dick off ya know ;)

6.Last but certainly NOT the least, keep it clean! Clean it when you first get it "before" you even use it and clean it on a regular basis.

a.Ultrasonics are a very good investment, got mine off Amazon for around $25.

A friend of mine is offering to sell me an Avid Lyfe Able mod and the battle deck for $160. Is it a good deal and is it worth buying?

My advise... Get Good batteries... Learn to build BELOW .5ohm and with 28 or thinner wire, before going lower or thicker. I wouldn't spend more than $30 on a first mech mod. I won't get into the authentic vs clone BS.. leave it at if you are courious as to if you will like building and vaping Mechanical/unregulated, go clone... If you know you want a specific mod or specific type of performance and perfect quality go authentic.

I've been using regulated mods for a while now, I've got a very good hang on ohm's law. I can also build good coils below .5ohm. I'm looking for great quality and safety in a mech mod, I only want to buy authentic. So is your advise is not to go for the Avid Lyfe mod? If yes can you suggest some good quality mech mods?

depending on the condition and if it's authentic, that's a killer price for an Able & battle deck

He hates clones, he buys only authentic mods. From what I saw and how he cares for his mods it looks like straight from the shop. I had a try of it and it rips like a mf.

that would be one of those deals where you don't think twice about it. If nothing else, you could flip it for a good $40-50 profit if you wanted

Ohms law will keep you from hurting yourself while vaping.. My .5ohm suggestion has NOTHING to do with safety. See IMO, mechs are as safe if not safer than regulated mods. ( The Brain being a better safety device than a program or circuit).

My higher ohm or lower wattage build suggestion is about learning to build coils and how they work. I find it easier to build at higher ohm rates, and easier to understand what and how to make changes for the next build.
IMO newbies shouldn't go for max power at first. Just like I wouldn't buy a 16 year-old a Corvette as a first car. 700 horse power is great to have, just not great to learn with. Just because you can go fast doesn't mean you can drive.

Got mine from puffpuffvapelv.com
Dragonsdenvapor has good selection that is constantly changing as well but they cost little more. I am looking for black one now.
Mod is actually two sided and I think that they have "skins" for it as well.
