New built coils jump resistance

Hey I'm relatively new to building coils for mods. A while ago I bought some premade clapton wire from Geek Vape and I had to do was coil it and put it on which was relatively easy to do. My only problem is I can't get the ohms down to where they're supposed to be. On my mod it's all the way up to .5-.6 from .2. How do I fix this issue?

Here's one of my builds that's not working the way it should.

what type of wire? SS will increase in resistance as it gets hot.

make sure everything is clean and connections are tight

Having coils jump in resistance and having coils at a different resistance then what you want, are two different things.

I don't know which coils you use and why you think they should be 0.2 and not 0.5

First if all make sure the atty is screwed tightly on the mod and that the coils is screwed tightly in the posts.

If it is still too high for your preference you can remove a wrap(s) from the coil.

Why do you NEED it to be 0.2?

This should give you an estimate of what the coil resistance should be, based on the type, id, wraps, wire width and material of the coil:

yeah looking at the pic, that doesn't look like a .2 build

I imagine the coil package were labeled with a ohm reading, most likely .2 and they are jumping all the way up to .5

By premade clapton do you mean a roll like this:

Or a premade coils like this:

So basically this is what we need to know

1) is it premade coils or just pre made wire
2) Does OP have a meter to check the resistance
3) Whats the specs on the wire. I can see 8 wraps looks about 2 or 2.5 mm. Whats the inside and outside wire gauges

This is the setup I made for my Sigelei 150w and the single coil is on the RX 200.

The dual coil reads 0.53 ohms, and the single reads 1.33 ohms. Like I said I'm new to building the coils so I apologize if this is supposed to be rudimentary knowledge. That's why I came to you guys though.20160802_223241.jpg

And these were the coils I was running on my Sigelei before I attempted to build my own, these ran @ .2 ohms. Is it just the amount of wraps I did that increased the resistance?20160802_223657 (1).jpg

So wire shoots then.
You can't really change the Clapton itself but you control the resistance with the coil ID (which is set by the diameter of the thing you wrap around) and the number of wraps.
The more wraps and/or bigger ID, the higher the resistance.

according to steam engine (and assuming it's got a 2.5mm inner diameter based on the pics) resistance for that wire should be about 1.05 for a single coil or .525 for a dual coil so it sounds like everything is reading correctly. Not sure where you got the .2 number from unless you are taking it from your previous coils. Which could be a different material? Even using the 6 wraps like your old coils would put your build at about .455 So I think your other coils were different wire to get a .2 Maybe they were fused claptons?
