Its reading .3 and I havent seen where it could be shorting out.I'm using a istick50 and I do believe it wouldn't fire if it was shorting .the istick has short pertech.

You were sure to soak the coil before firing? Is it possible it fired accidentally prior to juicing the coil? If so it could have burnt the wick unnoticeably which would cause the horrible taste.

It could still short on you and be firing, as long as it's still above the device's resistance limit. But chances are if it's reading .3 that it's not a short. Not unless that build normally comes in around .7 or so. Hard to tell anything without photos :p I once had a coil taste like hell, and realized my fingers were getting my wick dirty. You never really know sometimes haha

Yes, didn't think about that...as I always wash my hands before putting in a new wick. However I do recall some members saying that dirty hands, sometimes even just the oil from your skin, can affect the flavor on a wick. That was in talks about rayon wicking, but I'm sure the same could hold true for cotton as well.

I haven't got a clue but the coil has turned black now.....probably going to scrap it when I get home. Looks like I have a long day of a shitty taste.

I had the same problem. I just did it with not recently washed hands. Worked like a charm after that.
