Star Trek is returning to TV with a new series.
Alex Kurtzman (Transformers, Fringe) will serve as executive producer and new episodes will be available exclusively on the CBS All Access digital subscription service, following a special one-time preview broadcast on CBS leading into the premiere. It will be the first original series developed for U.S. audiences on CBS All Access, which costs $6 per month. CBS launched All Access last year, becoming the first of the major US broadcast networks to debut a standalone subscription service, which includes both current and vintage programs.
