My best advice is keep it simple at first and try starting off with less flavor. Have you ever heard Less is More?

I bought Green Apple and have not figured out what to do with it yet!
I got green apple too. All I know is add sour. Lol I love sour apple. But I don't want just sour apple, I want some complex blend that I cannot even create haha

It was an apple pie flavor from TFA. my mom bought me a bunch of desserty flavors for me to make her. All I did was use it at 3% and she said it was good. It was poop to me so idk!!!

I made Sweet Pipe Tobacco today which is not bad but I mixed some Buck Naked American Tobacco into the tank because I was never a pipe smoker.

All of those sound gross to me. But, I know if blended well, it could taste good. Now how in the world do I figure out a good blend? Trial and error waaaaah I'll get this one day.

The Tobacco do not have a suggested % to start at so I had no idea where to start.

I tried starting a post on the OTHER FORUM but only had a few suggestions and 2 dumbasses who started arguing with me because I was asking for personal experiences and not links to sites to look it up!

I have pineapple, lemon, blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, kiwi, watermelon, tangerine, green apple, tutti frutti, cinnamon fireball, and red bull. Then I got Sour, and all of those desserty ones I don't even anticipate trying, those I will make for my mom.

Do you know about the drop method of mixing? I read about it thought it was a wonderful idea but never pursued it

My flavors are Liquid barn

Flavor Description:The creaminess of raspberry ice cream, infused with the sweetness of an orange, and a hint of citrus lime.

Nope, haven't done much research really. I make natural soap so I usually measure in grams but with juice, I have been doing mL and drops from the pipette which I figured out how to change drops per ml today. I need better syringes so the entire recipe can be measured the same way. I know that has to be screwing me up somehow too.

That would be appealing to me if I could stand raspberry ice cream. I just need to shut up and try stuff. I complain too much. I tried to make a blue raspberay jolly rancher today too. I tasted it and it seems to taste good but I want to let it steep. I'm sure it'll get better. Right now my favorite is lemonberry. I can't seem to get off of it.

You know you are forgetting that you made your Mom some e-Liquids she loves. That is success! You are looking for the most killer vape with the smoothest sweetest taste ever. That is going to be hard to create.

I mix all my recipes by drop counting.... i have scale and i have other measuring equip but im lazy in that sense so i just count drops.
Works wonders for me, make some pretty mean juice.
Only thing ill use syringes for is for adding vg and pg.

Finding the sweet spot for each brand/flavor can be a PITA, just be patient.
Typical "decent" Blackberry flavors are plenty strong at 2%, FA brand is probably even less but all I got was perfume.
Most Pineapple favors are strong too, 3% to start.
Raspberry is usually "OMG, YIKES, try 0.5% next time".
Blueberry varies some but 5% is a decent starting point.
Lemon varies too, 2-5% range
Most of the Orange flavors can start at 5%, except FA 2%.
Apples vary quite a bit also, 2-5%, or more.
Watermelon is typically weaker...

I am going to make the Rainbow Sherbet next I think.

I found TFA & FW Rainbow Sherbet are both quite strong for me and needed some steep time.
Actually used them at 8% like 2 years ago and thought they were good.
But now even at 5% they seem too strong.
My last batch I think went down to 3% but it's steeping yet.

HOLY CRAP! First taste is AMAZING! I only went with a 7% flavor and a 3MG on the nicotine but this is wild! Nothing easier than using a single flavoring for a complex flavor. IMHO

I will update this post after I have enjoyed an ML or Two! Bear in mind this was a Stir , Heat, Rest and Vape about 6 hours. Longer than I have let sit before tasting. I might give this a touch more flavor as i did go with just a tad less but so far this in NICE.............

What are you making small batches like 5-100mL in? I only have 30mL and 100mL bottles.

I have reused/recycled some old store bought juice bottles by soaking them in Hot Water and Dawn dish washing liquid. I wish I would have saved more of the empties because right now I could use them instead of having to buy empty bottles.

Yeah I've kept a lot of our old bottles but the smallest was 30mL. Maybe I'll just make 5mL and still use the 30mL bottle . I shake everything before adding and shake pretty good afterward but I'm thinking of warming the VG a little to make it easier to mix slightly. I just put in the pineapple, tangerine, blueberry sour mix in my husband's tvf4 at 137w and I tasted it and he tasted it. He says it is PERFECT! I like it too. Way more flavor than some of the others I have made. The recipe I did was:

Nic 23 drops
PG 4.2mL
VG 20.1mL
Pineapple 75 Drops
Tangerine 23 drops
Blueberry 15 drops
Sour 8 drops

I understand pineapple is a lot but that flavor is diluted pretty well from a different vendor. I'm not going to get flavor from that one again. I'll probably get more from TFA, FA, FW. So far I kind of like those. Anyway, back to the recipe. This is probably the most perfect recipe I have made yet. And I've been using kind of the same recipe for others so maybe these particular flavors just compliment each other well. I also made a blue raspberry jolly rancher clone that isn't as sour as I'd like, but I'm pretty content with it. Next batch I may try a little more sour.

I wound up with a bunch of 10 ML bottles because my local B&M Vape Shop did not have a 30 ML bottle and gave me 3 for the same price as 1. But when I think back on all the bottles I threw out I wish I was contemplating DIY and had saved them.

I also make herbal tinctures so I have bottles all over the place but not small enough for test batching juice. I anticipated making juice froom the get go but I make other things so didn't have time and when I found out we spent $200 in one week between me and my husband, I MADE time lol that is just ridiculous.

The Tobacco do not have a suggested % to start at so I had no idea where to start.

Many DIYers have what we call the "5% rule". Meaning that with a flavor the starting point is 5%. This does not seem to apply to FA or Inwara flavors though which seem to have a 1% rule. That being said, that is only a rule of thumb and it may actually be better to start at a lower percentage for some people.

Yes, I agree start low and use the smell test first. I have tweaked some recipes even while they were resting.

Thanks for the Tip!

You can just make 10ml test batches in the 30ml bottles.
Main advantage is it's easier to measure the smaller amounts of flavoring.
Like the recipes that have some at 0.5% or 0.25%.
Especially when using the stronger flavors like FA & INW.

Especially when using Cherry, Raspberry, Tiramisu, Coffee flavors, & Tobaccos(the stronger ones anyway).
Even FE Lemon would be to high at 5% IMO.
Main thing no matter what brand or flavor is you need to "learn" each flavor.
But when the Mfg. recommends starting at 10-15% or more, it always sets off a red flag to me.
Either the flavors are extremely weak or they think everyone vapes with a Vivi Nova these days:D.
