New to this, need help on a good setup.

Hey guys, I am looking to start vaping in order to quit smoking! I have a budget of around $150 for everything I need and I would like to get a box mod and have a tank setup with it. I have tried using an aspire kit ( this one https://vaporhq.com/aspire-premium-starter-kit) but it just doesn't hit hard enough. I just have no idea where to begin, reputable brands, compatability, etc. Any help with a build would be greatly appreciated!

Some other options are:
  • Evic VTC Mini kit (upgrade firmware for 75W and additional new features)
  • IStick Pico Kit

Both great devices, and you will need a few capable 18650 batteries (Samsung, LG, Sony) maybe a separate charger.
I would also suggest either the Crown or Herakles tank (V1) on top. Both have come down in price and have cheap and readily available coils. Good luck, and welcome to VU.

It depends on what you want. Are you wanting to vape direct lung or mouth to lung (like a cig)? This will make a big difference on what to refer you to. I can give you some references to both...

Mouth to lung:
Ego Aio (all in one)
Migcig Clearfusion starter kit (highly recommend)
Endure T18
Istick Pico and Aspire Nautilus tank

Direct lung:
Coolfire 4 Plus Kit
Kanger Kbox kit
Vaporesso Target kit

$150 is way overkill to start out with but maybe try one from each type of vape style.

RX200 mod, 6 x LG HG2 batteries, Nitecore I4 charger, and a TFV4 tank will accommodate just about anything you want to do, will fit in your budget, and you'll never need an upgrade unless you just want one. That rig will do anything vape can do, with the only drawback being it's a 3-battery mod and not too pocketable. Just FYI, $150 is probably way more than you need to spend to get started. Another good choice would be a Kanger Topbox kit, which will do anything but extreme high power work-- it's limited to 75 watts-- and would be all the rig about 90% of all vapers would ever need for half the money.
