Does anyone here have plans to ring in the New Year? Any resolutions?

I resolve to follow tradition of not making resolutions.

My church has a little get together after bible study and we hang out play games and just relax.

I'm probably doing jack shit. In fact, I'm going to celebrate by recuperating from the stress of the Christmas season. I'm off from work on New Year's Eve, but I work an 11-hour shift on New Year's Day, so I'm gonna need to save my energy. I don't want to die from exhaustion.

I don't really mind it too much. I'll take the 11 hours of double-time pay. Never got the appeal of the holiday anyway. Just seems like an excuse for people to stay up late and drink irresponsibly with friends and family without the social stigma that usually accompanies such behavior. I don't need a holiday to justify that. That's just a regular Tuesday night for me and some of my friends.

I don't make New Year's resolutions. I think that if you have to set a day when you will resolve yourself to making a big change, then you're already procrastinating and probably aren't half as prepared as you think you are... ...you're tricking yourself into feeling better about yourself than is warranted. It's a real good way to set yourself up for failure. Simply making the resolution makes you feel satisfied and confident, which in turn makes you less motivated to follow through. It is easy to say to yourself that you will do something...

Sounds cool. Does your church have LAN parties?

Since I quit smoking I'm going to eat better and do some minor working out to get back in shape, I'm not by any means overweight I just need to trim up before I hit 40 to make 40 feel better:)

It's a good thing to tone up and eat healthy at any age. I plan to continue down this path next year.
