So, just curious. What do you experts think will be the next big thing in vaping in 2016? Last year it seemed like TC came into its own and went mainstream, and the watt wars have heated up. Cheap 300 watt mods, 250 watt RX200, etc. What will the trends be this year? I seem to remember awhile ago that Innokin was coming out with a true temp sensor coil that actually sensed the temp not just the resistance. Will something like this be coming out this year? Any thoughts?

Hum... specialty coil heads and exotic prebuilt coils seems to be a trend this year. Tungsten, ceramic, stainless steel "Mask" style coils, and who knows what else. This is already a huge year for RTAs. If some of these new types of coils catch on they may be a pretty big deal.

Premade coils in general will be more sophisticated. Hopefully BIGGER and brighter screens on VW devices.

What we will see out atomizers that are temperature sensing. Already one is out. It was an inevitable progression. Hopefully we will soon see mods that do not use an antequated 510 connection as well. Something more integrated is bound to be produced and is bound to be more accurate and reliable.

The big thing this year imo will be big tanks/decks (RTA's). Seems like 25mm are going to be the standard this yeas as opposed to 22mm.

Cheers,
Steve

I agree. 24/25mm tanks and wider mods are going to be big this year. It's already starting with the rx200, Cuboid, Istick 200w, billow v3+, aromimizer supreme, boreas, Griffin 25, etc.

Which one is out?

The next big thing is world-wide vaping laws with a bunch of restrictions, small tanks, closed tank systems, limited capacities, Juice licensing, Nic base restrictions!

I hope that batteries get safer, stronger, with a longer run time....Maybe a nitrogen/carbon form of power cell and solar recharging....And that big gov will just let Us pick and choose how and what We can do within Our own lives...:)bliss:)...Z

I opened the thread to mention thermal sensing TC.

Back in Nov/Dec, Innokin projected their release for Mar/Apr. Where'd it go?

I was a few drinks in so I don't recall the maker, but just last night I read a thread about a new mod/tank with what might be a true TC proprietary connector.
Did someone beat Innokin out of the starting gate?

Of course some good mentions upthread as well... the Notch will start a coil trend and ceramics look to make a splash, etc.. But I think true TC will be the biggie.

I know they are working on coils that can always be vaped in power mode that incorporate temperature sensing. We will see soon enough how this works. Tanks are evolving. Look at the mask coils and ceramic coils everywhere. New materials are inevitable and that will mean new types of tanks and new styles of vaping. Who would have thought a year ago I could buy a 300 watt device with a tank that can vape that high? But I can.

Yes, unfortunately I too was afraid this might come up.

those are all good calls

Here's what I think we will see more of....

- More questionable materials now that the ceramic craze is dying down.

- "Coiless" tanks like IPV Pure

- More mods with big, dumb, battery draining touch screens.

- Duel 18650 500w mods

I guess I'm just getting old because I don't like any of these trends I'm seeing. The only thing I like and look forward to seeing more of is inexpensive juice.

Boy do you and I see this topic differently. :p

Haven't cared to try them myself, but for the past 5-6 weeks it doesn't seem to matter the topic of discussion... it always seems to pass through the "which ceramic heads are you using?" stage.

My thing with ceramic isn't necessarily the material, it's the durability.

I would like to see some dual battery 26650 form factor regulated mods made. Especially with the growing popularity of 25 and 30mm atties. This would work well with the continuing trend of higher power capacity as Well. 26650's in general have bigger storage capacity and higher Amperage ratings...

Too many in Mooch's still short list are focusing on capacity over capability.

I'd like to see more of them with higher CDRs, not just greater mAhs.
I know they exist (Sony's ?), it's just not the norm. Yet?
