Ni200 coil bust - Please Help!!!

I'm trying Ni200 26G now, and it's a total bust. I make the coil as evenly spaced as possible. I go as far as to use a jewlers loop to look for any problems. Then wick it, and I put the IPV4s box on Jules, not power, set resistance, and it just says low resistance and won't fire at all. Not sure where i'm messing up. I wanna say the ohms were at .045 when resistance was set. I just took it apart again. I wanna taste the difference between the Kanthal and Ni but can't because I'm screwing it up. It's driving me bat shit.

Have an ohmmeter to check the resistance? Not the one on the mod. With 26 Gauge, you might be really low. How many wraps and what size mandrel are you using?

Check your manual if your at 0.045 your resistance is to low. The lowest is 0.05 ohms. Try adding a wrap or two to your coils. I like 0.08 as my sweet spot. I use 5-6 wraps with 28G wire.

Correct. I use a mandrel of 3mm for wrapping, larger i.d. is better IMHO with Ni200. Easier to space the coils too.

For my TFV4 NI builds I actually use a #8 woodscrew, then i transfer to a mini screwdriver and compress a little always comes out just right.

I had the same issue and found out it was because I needed to leave a little wire coming through the post holes and make sure the screws were clamped down just right on the legs of the coil.

9 wraps of 24g gets me to a .18.

I was using a 2mm Philips head from my computer repair kit. I will try using the 3mm, and adding a couple of more wraps. Ohm meter should be here tomorrow, but I'm sure I will be at work when it arrives. Hopefully my neighbor will grab it for me. I'm going to try these suggestions first as I'm impatient as hell. Thanks for the advice!!! I'm using max VG 3mg juice if that matters.

Another problem is the lack of space on the Kanger RBA. If I wrap to many it just won't fit right without one of the legs crossing under the coil. To me that just looks like a bad thing, but maybe I'm wrong. Any suggestions on replacements for this?

As in replacements for the Kanger ?

Yes replacement for Kanger that would allow for more building options. Got the meter this morning so I am playing with it trying to get this to work. I did another 6 wraps of 26Ga Nni200 on a 3mm mandrel. Spacing looked good but meter read .02. Still a bust, but I will never quit. Could be a long night.

I usually have to do 9 or 10 wraps to get to a .17 or .18.

My suggestion for a new tank would be a SMOK tfv 4 , the amount of coils they make for this thing is crazy. The single rba has a huge deck and is really easy to build on plus there is a dual rba as well.

Great airflow, 5ml capacity and top fill. The only negative is that's it's a fucking juice HOG especially if your using lower vg juice
