I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!! But not sure. Haha
I have a bottle of 100% PG 24 mg MFS Nicotine and i am using the e juice me up calculator for mixing guide and I keep running into errors because the PG of the Nic and the PG from flavorings is to high. Finding it hard to mix a 50/50 recipe.
Can I dilute this bottle down with some VG and still keep the Nic strength the same? Or will adding VG reduce the Nic to an unusable level? What would you do to fix this? How can I fix this?
Trying to avoid another Noob mistake like buying 100% PG Nic.

What is your target nic level for your final product? If it's fairly high, it will take quite a bit of your nic base to reach your desired strength. With the 100% PG base, you'll need to change your target PG/VG level to a higher PG than 50/50. My advice would be to buy a higher nic concentration base on your next purchase.

Thanks for your reply, i was trying to keep my mixes between 6-12mg. trying to reduce the PG total in my mixes, would like to stay in the 50/50 range. I have already ordered some new Nic from Vaportek but wanted to salvage this nearly full bottle I already have.
I used a Nic calculator and if I did it properly if I take 50ml of VG and 50 ml of the 24mg 100% PG Nic I currently have and combine the two i should have 100ml of 12mg 50/50 Nic???? Sure would like some verification of this before I try it though!

basically with this mix if you want to keep the 12mg of nic its gonna be difficult but if your willing to go to say 6mg then it just deends on how much flavor you use
but you do have a 50/50 mix of 12mg nic now, which if you trying to make juice with lower then 12mg n ic you should be able to easily achieve your final desired product if you have plain vg and plain pg

??? are you saying that mixing 50/50 will have no flavor? I plan on using this for my Nic base and add flavors for my final vapeable juice.
no he is saying that you will nothave any of your flavors added in to that mix
when you add flavoring say 10% of whatever flavors you will have something slightly different then 50//50 if its all pg based flavors like most are then if my math is correct you will have a 60pg/40vg mix at 10.8mg nic

Would you guys have any better ratios to use for a mix base?

i usually use 100mg pure vg nic

why?
1. i vape max vg - just because I find pg in my subohms kicks my throats ass
2. its cheaper to buy 100 mg nic and dilute it in the long run then it is to buy lower mg nic

i mix to 6mg ish nic

but using a calculator makes everything easier

you tell it what you have
and what you want and it does the math

what final ratio you have of pg/vg is up to you
its personal preference

more vg = more clouds
more pg = more throat hit

some believe pg is a better carrier for flavor so pg makes things more flavorful - which makes sense then why most flavors are all PG

i personally get plenty of flavor form max vg mixes

vg is sweeter and does make flavors taste more sweet

if your making your own juice you can now experiment easily with your pg/vg ratio and find what you like best

once you have a flavor you like. mix up 10ml batches at different pg/vg ratios and find which one you like best and go with that in the future for your other mixes

Leave the nic base as it is, and then use a juice calculator to get the right percentages when you mix something. If you mix that down to 50/50 now, as soon as you add your PG based flavorings you'll have less than 50% VG. If you wait until you mix something you should be able to get to 50/50 easily.

I use a lot of TFA flavors that mix well at 10%. To get 6mg/ml nicotine juice, this is a sample of what you may want.

PG 15%
VG 50%
24mg PG base nicotine 25%
TFA PG base flavor 10%

I used the eJuicemeup program to get these answers.

If you mix 50% VG & 40% of your 24 mg nic base & 10% flavoring you will get 50/50 juice @ 9.6 mg of nic are you going to notice the difference? If you are subbing 12 mg is a little high. If you use FA flavorings you will be able to bring the mg.s up even more as FA flavorings are stronger so you use less of them. {FA flavorings are stronger]

I honestly believe I would notice a difference between the 6 mg and 9.6 mg. the Nic I am using is from MFS and i get a scratchy feeling in the back of my throat when I add much more Nic to my mixes. I tried some mixes at 12 mg and I couldn't vape them without coughing and not liking the feeling in my throat. I would love to up my Nic because at 6 mg i am chain vaping all day and still feel like I need an analog to settle my cravings. I just received a bottle of Vaporstek Nic and I am going to try a mix using it. From what I have read here on VU it is the best so I am excitedly wanting to try it.
I have found on the e juice me up calculator a tool they have included that helps me solve the problem that prompted this thread. I was running into issues with recipes where the numbers wouldn't work trying to mix 50/50. So now using that tool i can mix with this PG Nic and manipulate it if I need to in order to get the results I am after.
I appreciate your help!!

In this post you said between 6 and 12 mg was your target, unless you have a bottle of straight pg or add more flavoring with what you stated you currently have for supplies that's about as close as you're going to get. I did state 12 mg was high and "that with 9.6 mg "THAT" You might not notice the difference between the 12 mg and the 9.6 mg!" RMarcusY has the correct mix for 6 mg juice but you have to have 15% straight pg which wasn't on your supply list. being that your flavorings are in pg you count them AS pg. Good luck with your mixing experience, hope this clears up what I said in my first post and I hope this helps
